    Hi,
Kerbed a new wheel on Tuesday, leaving the airport short-term car park half asleep.

The wheel went about a half rotation on a downslope before I reversed out of it, so there was reasonably deep gouging around the rim edge.

I needed someone with a diamond cutter. that place everyone recommends in bray was too far, and wheel wizards don't have one.

Rim solutions in Park West took it in on Tuesday evening and it was a 3 day job to cut and relaquer/bake.
It turned out perfect, just like new. Delighted with the work done and friendly guys. €110 total.
I got a spare for the few days while it was being done.

You can see the results best around the valve in the pics:

    That is all.

I remember your thread about buying this car. I absolutely love the colour you chose.

Thanks a lot, yeh loving the colour too. The car itself is working out great. Sharp as a tack, tonnes of power and 50-60mpg all day long.
10,000 km on it today, four months in.

    Here's the rest of it:

Here's their recent video from Micksgarage on the diamond cutting process.

I'll have a full set to give them from my Bravo.

That's impressive. Saw something very similar on Wheeler Dealers lol. Nice to see an Irish company providing a similar service.

Looks good but it's pricey imho. Much better value in the UK.

I did the exact same thing on my front left on Wednesday. Took a fairly hefty chunk out of the rim similar place, but if i was sending one in id send the lot in and €440 would be hefty enough, do they do deals?

By the time you include shipping, never mind the hassle involved? From what I've read on uk forums, a proper diamond cut refurb from Lepsons or the likes would cost about £100 per rim.

Agree Joe, can't see any value in the UK.

This isn't really a normal alloy refurb, the diamond cutting is a bit more specialist to be fair - I doubt a decent place would do a normal refurb for less than €80 per wheel, so €110 for diamond cutting seems like good value to me, and gets a new car back into as-new condition

I'd be interested in hearing how the repair holds up. Diamond cut wheels (even from factory) are notoriously bad for "whiteworm" corrosion, where moisture gets in under the lacquer... generally refurbed wheels seem to get corroded quicker than a factory finished wheel. That does look like a great job you got done though - hopefully they put enough lacquer on it!

I got a buckled alloy repaired by them recently, cant fault their work so would definitely go back.

Juts got my wheels back from RIM Solutions, and like all the other reviews mine is the same. They did an excellent job, I have had many comments and to be honest I would have to say the finish is better than they were when new, particularly as I went for a chrome powder coated finish. They were a real pleasure to deal with.
