....for the life of me I can't remember where I saw it, either today or very recently (online) about the breakdown of house building costs in Ireland. It was as part of an article (online)

It showed a pie chart with %'s going to the various parties, including materials, groundworks, fees, contributions etc etc.....

Anyone else see that...or am I raving (possible :pac: ) ?

“And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, generates funds to the exchequer. You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

    the development levies and bonds
social housing contribution? doesn't apply to single house developments
who markets building their own house?
    security? really?
would most people do their lawns and driveway etc before moving into house? I doubt it.
most Irish people don't pay big money for design, and just pull a design from a book or online.

Mostly valid points except the chart refers to a 3 bed semi detached house in Dublin not a one off house..... ? Most one off house do have development levies and bonds around €20,000 in some local authority areas
