BWM dealer recommendation

I've to the get the rear brake pads changed on my 2011 F10 this summer and want to use a main dealer in Ireland, preferably in Dublin.

The problem I have is anytime I've taken it to the dealer I bought it at for routine maintenance, they've damaged the interior and overall been very careless with minding the car.

Price isn't really an issue - I just want to bring it to a main dealer which is going to give it back to me in the exact same condition as when I left it in, not scuffing or scratches on the interior etc.

Any suggestions for Dublin? Would travel outside Dublin if I had to, even NI but Dublin would be convenient.

I'd go north if you don't mind travelling, you'll pay with the exchange rate though. Prentice in Portadown have excellent service for parts and service items.

About 1 hour 45 from the airport.

honestly, I would do that job myself... youd have it done quicker than the time you would take it to and back from the dealer... I do any work that I can on my own car, because at least I know what I have done and wont damage the car...

I can detail my car with the best of them but I can barely top up the oil, so would rather bring to a bmw dealer, still under warranty.

If you're in Dublin and price is not an issue then any of the main dealers will do the job. I have used Joe Duffy for the past 6 years and am very satisfied with the service. They will even wash and vacuum your car before your get it back.

I know any of the main dealers will do the job that's not what I'm looking for - I want someone who is going to take care of my car and not damage it.

And the "wash" many dealers provide just wets the car and/or damages the paintwork.

Vacuuming the car was part of the problem last time I went to main dealer - they rubbed their hoover off the steering wheel and scratched the leather.

All I want to mechanical work done and car left in same condition and undamaged. I'm obviously very particular about the car as I keep it well.

Being honest, I wouldn't waste my time driving up north for a job like rear pads. It'll take 4 hours of your day just to get their and back, and with Sterling how it is at the minute there will be very little of a saving.

Tell whatever dealer you use down here not to hoover or wash the car and you'll be fine.

You can specify to the service manager that you don't want is washed or vacuumed. I have done this at Joe Duffys on occasion especially after I might have waxed the car before a service. I am equally neurotic about the condition of my car and have never had an issue with them.

I use Chelmsford motors in ranelagh for my 520TD, have found them very reliable and Gary there knows what he's doing with BMW's. He's a straight talker, no BS and will let you know if he can or can't do the job.
Personally I wouldn't let my car in a BMW main dealer...just my opinion !

Murphy And Gunn in Milltown all day long. And that's coming from a guy that could hold his breath and drive to Joe Duffy BMW Before I ran out of air!

I use Joe Duffy southside and find them good. I put a do not wash post-it on the steering wheel and they are more than happy to not clean the car. They always put down floor and seat protectors when moving the car.

Murphy and Gunn milltown once took my X5 for a spin over a long weekend 600km and left scuba diving gear in the boot. Frank Keane blackrock overfilled the engine oil on my M5, Frank Keane Naas road sold me a car as fully serviced that needed a service 1000km later thanks to a cheeky reset. Every dealer has their good days and bad days, hard to feck up a brake pad change, but if its possible an Irish BMW dealer will find a way. Why oh why do we keep buying them?

Its was funny really. At the start they tried to cover, saying I had approved a test drive, then they denied it, then the boss man got involved and the apologizes started flying and I could see in his eyes he was really mad (mad that it got caught). My wife picked up the car and they tried to bamboozle her which upset her and really angered me.

It was because we had picked up the car early before they had not had a chance to clean it, take the stuff out, refill the fuel, unpair their phone from the Bluetooth and I would assume remove the mileage from the odometer. His dentination wass still in the sat nav.

I went basaltic. I have since bought 4 different BMW's and spent thousands on service and not one from them. I understand others have good experience but a workshop where others stand by a give the keys to a customers car to a fellow to have a joyride is untrustworthy IMHO.

Joe Duffy rochestown is also the Porsche dealership. I have been into the workshop and it is pristine. The mechanics are excellent and everything is very neat. They communicate on time and properly and keep their promises

Joe Duffy rochestown sounds great. But forgive my ignorance but is that a bmw garage? I thought only the main place by m50 was the joe Duffy bmw dealership? I didn't know there was another one?

One of the main dealers listed above used to take customer car to BMW Car Club track days in Mondello Park!
Go with a BMW specialist like Motor Confidence!

Did you get anything from them bar apologies?

I posted about my own experience before with one of the BMW dealers. I left the car in for a week to get things fixed (under warranty) and they clocked up 500km, scratched one of the alloys, left rubbish in the back footwell, and used up most of the tank of diesel.

I did manage to get them to pay for all 4 alloys refurbishment but looking back I should persuaded them to give me new alloys or a very good deal on new alloys. The owner was particular worried that I might go to BMW Ireland and complain to them.

    It here http://www.joeduffy.ie/contact-us/2/bmw-approved-service-centre/

Sells seat, Porsche and services Porsche and BMW.

FK gave me a discount of the work carried out of about 500 euro, they also got the lad to ring me and apologize. I should have pushed harder but my wife was upset so I had to calm things down.
