Just look at the Lowa range if hill or mountain especially stalking the 10 and 12 hole high great support for your foot and ankle.Safety is not always about guns you owe it to your family to safeguard yourself for their sake. After all you want to go out again n again and so on.

if you get yourself a quality pair of wellies ie aigle,le chameau etc you should be able to walk in comfort all day,its a common complaint by people who haven't worn a good wellie.

Before you go blowing a huge amount of money on a pair of Meindl or Lowa boots and then after a couple of seasons discover they are splitting or cracking somewhere their not supposed to.

Why not go for a pair of surplus army boots, you can pick up the new British Army boots on Ebay for £70 plus postage they are maid by Haix.

German army boots are also made by Haix can get a new pair for €100.

Take care of the leather and they will last you just as long as the more expensive civiliam type boots.

I have a pair of German boots that I'm using at the moment, have put lashings of polish and dubbin on them and they are waterproof. The new ones are tough to break in but sure you'll be able to put up with that.

I also have a pair of british army pro boots they are gortex lined and they have gotten the same treatment, they are a very comfortable boot to wear.

Both these boots are easy to clean as they don't have as much seams and stitching as the civilian boots.

Have a pair of Meindl dovre extrenme boots which crached and split after 2 seasons...........:o

I had a pair of Le Chameau that were very comfortable and worked great for a year but started letting water in after that. I'm in my third season now with a pair of Meindl Island Pros. Great boot for hiking / hunting. I regularly wear mine all day trekking miles over the hill and they're yet to let cold or water in. Clean them regularly and wax them every now and then and they'll last you years!

Bought a pair of Seeland wellies a few years ago, something over €100. Very good but would not want too walk in them all day.

Tried a lot of hiking/hunting boots over the years, Ones am using at the moment. Crispi - Nevada Legend
Had never heard of them before. Bought them on a hunting trip in Croatia two years ago when the airline lost my (and a good few others) luggage. Local guide said they were very good and limited choice left in my size.
In my case without a doubt best all round hiking/hunting boots I have ever tried.

What ever boot you choose make sure you avoid narrow gauge soled boots! They are too noisy on ground! The quitest boots I ever had were cheap rigger boots! The wide oversized soles combined with the loose fit meant that they were very forgiving if you are trying to be stealthy

Le Chameau, great boot, walk all day deer hunting in the hills, don't get the ones with the zip on the side

well I hate wellies, but was stuck so local co/op had 'Dunlop Blizzard' €45 great fit and fur lined ! so far so good

Just to day I also bought a pair of short sealand rubber boots with front zip! Avoid these as they fell apart after one year of light work!..

Haix with lots of frequent dubbing, last a long long time, and a pair of gaiters.
