    How does it work can you just show up on regular roadie and do a few laps? Plannin on headinf out tomorrow on a route.

    No you can't, track is locked when not in use. Accreditation required, check out www.trackcycling.ie for schedule. National Omnium championships are on this weekend.

    As nak says it's locked up and not accessible unless you have one of the local coaches there to supervise what's going on. That's the fallout from some vandalism a few years ago which resulted in a fence being put around the track. Before that it was possible to just turn up and have a go (as Harrybelafonte and I did a few years ago to give ourselves a "taster" track session)

    There is one accreditation left, on the 25th of July. Turn up early, (it starts at 2pm) and you will get sorted with a bike. You are not allowed a bike with brakes, a freewheel or gears. You rent a bike and they take you through what you need to know about how to ride the track, ride in a group and the rules and etiquette required and then you do as many Saturday trainings as the coach deems fit for you to do to become fully accredited.

    It's loads of fun, you should definitely give it a go. Nak linked the website with all the info you need.

    You can't change anything on the rental bikes unfortunately. They are Look Delta's. You can rent shoes as well.

    what's the damage for bike/shoe rental?? Been thinking about the track for quite a while now, mostly for next year as I'll most likely miss the early season road racing when the wife has baby no. 2 so was thinking id be getting the racing back in the legs in time for the track.

    Bike rental is €5 a go or €2 for a student/youth/unwaged. Accreditation is €10. You can pay for training sessions one at a time or for the whole season which is something like €30 I think, don't quote me on that one. It's very good value though. The Autumn league just started last Wednesday, it's on until the end of August if you are tempted ;) You might squeak the Summer league in next year depending on when mini arrives :D Congratulations by the way :D

    do the accreditation asap and you can ride the track monday nights,saturday mornings and possibly get 5 wed league nights. that finishes by september but training continues till october anyway

    Bring runners for the cage pedals in case cleared shoes in your size are not available.
