On Friday June 21st we are having a classic old skool night in Dalymount Park, headlining the bill is the legendary Chris D who was Ireland's most underrated DJ's in the 1990's,anyone who was a regular in either Columbia Mills or the Ormond in the 1990's will remember Chris D and his ability to work the crowd into a frenzy, also on the bill are Al Stevens, Joe Mangan and Mark Daly.

    Chris D

Hailing from Dublin and from an early age it was no wonder that Chris D would follow in his family’s deep musical background as both his grandparents were established working Jazz musicians. Chris D bought his first vinyl record at the age of 5 and then his first keyboard at the age of 6. His first big step into the world of music was at the age of ten when he was performing background vocals on records. His first DJing appearance was in 1984 on the hugely popular Radio Dublin, he was 13 at the time and was the youngest ever DJ on mainstream Irish pirate radio. His growing record collection at the time included the likes of Kraftwerk, Dépêche Mode, Visage, Herbie Hancock & Gary Newman. At the same time he was playing keyboards in a synth based band caIled ‘Moon Over Moscow’ who were regulars at the famous Baggot Inn and it was inevitable that Chris would somehow slide into the world of what we now know as dance music on its arrival.
Chris’s first big dance music gig was in McGonagles when he supported SL2 (On a Ragga Tip) and the rest is history. Not one for residencies Chris D would be found Dj’ing amongst the finest acts & DJ’s that dance music had to offer in legendary dance venues like The Kitchen, The Columbia Mills/The Waterfront, The Ormond Multi Media Centre, The Temple Theatre and also at many of the fabled underground parties, most noteably ‘The Garden of Eden’. Chris D would also be found behind the counter of the much loved ‘Outlaw Records’ record shop, and ran the first DJ’s rehearsal/recording studio in Dublin called ‘1 Cut’. Chris D has been at the centre of dance music in Ireland since its inception and has definitely earned himself the status of legend.
Chris D’s sets span all genres and his eclectic style of hard or soft, happy or dark, pianos or chainsaws will be sure to entertain you and ensure you will not be left sitting on your seat.

    Al Stevens

Al Stevens has been playing the decks for well over two decades, you can read more about Al here.

    Joe Mangan

Joe has been playing decks for over 15 years and his preferred style is old skool hard trance, similar to the sound in the legendary Asylum, Some of his influences include legendary German trance DJ oliver Lieb and Kid Paul.

    Mark Daly

Playing out since the age of 17 Mark has played in clubs like The Vaults, Radio City, and Purple Room in Drogheda, Marks loves various styles of old skool music, and also plays occasionally on Tech Radio.

We hope you can make it along to what promises to be a superb night of vintage old skool dance music from 1990-1995.

Dont actually know Chris D but if he is getting this kind of praise from Jonny he must be worth his weight.

I used to work with Mark & i can say 100% if there was ever anyone i met that was dedicated to sourcing tunes, and putting the effort into making a set right mark is definetley up there, a true old skool DJ.

Hope the night is great for ya's lads, sure it will ;)

Chris D was probably Irelands most underrated DJ back in the day, used to play regularly enough in the Waterfront and Ormond Multimedia Centre and dunno if you remember the Garden of Eden party's too.

Should be a top night great response so far
