Does anyone know of the crew Champions Everywhere, and in particular their injury free workshop:

    http://www.championseverywhere.com/injuryfreerunning

It's very pricey as €250 but if it's good, it might be workth it. :D

Anyone any experience of them, good or bad?

I think Toblerone was looking for a neutral opinion, as the co-founder of CE, I am hardly that :)

A lot of familiar names to these boards have shared their feedback in our Testimonials, so that may be worth a look:http://www.championseverywhere.com/injuryfreerunningtestimonials

If you want to see the end-product we are looking for, I recently put up a video of our course leader - Tony Riddle - running up and down Brockagh during the last course we held:http://www.championseverywhere.com/how-to-run-watch-perfect-running-form

These workshops came about by chance, as I happened on Tony and travelled to London, having tried most everything else to get rid of my injuries. The first meeting is described in this old blog post (this was before I learned he doesn't prefer "Antony"): http://www.mountain-runner.com/2011/11/diary-two-specialist-all-answerspart-2.html (the second half).

I pushed to bring him over a few months after this initial meeting and things took off from there. So this would give a good impression of how someone completely new would perceive it. Only difference is that this was a 2-hour session just with Tony and my better half present with the workshops obviously being a group format but supported by 4 coaches and with 16 hours available.

I've attended one of the workshops and found it useful. I’d been going down the minimalist shoe route anyway and hadn’t been injured for a couple of years, so I thought I was moving like a gazelle! The truth was I was closer to hippo than gazelle in movement terms and maybe my light frame let me get away with it.

For me it was definitely worth spending the money to immerse myself in the theory of it for a few days(the theory is taught very practically though, so it’s not 2 days sitting on your backside by any means). What I learned on the course showed me some very small changes I could make to improve my form and more importantly I have a set of easy drills that I can do as and when I want to trigger the right movement patterns if/when I start to slip back into bad habits.

I have been training with the lads, doing circuits/fartlek intermittently for maybe 18 months now so I had an insight into their methods and theories before attending the course. If you’ve doubts about spending the money on the course then attending some of those sessions may be an idea, as it will allow you gain an understanding of their way of working and see if you think it suits you.

Here's a link to info on those sessions. Worth a try if you're Dublin based and can make an evening or two.

Thanks folks for the reply. I'm based in Kilkenny so I won't be able to make those evening training session. With the way work is, I can't commit a weekend for a few months but I'll definitely keep in mind for the future.

Our expert Tony Riddle was one of the coaches asked to answer the question "should my heel touch the floor" on the website "barefoot beginner":

Also we're currently uploading previous attendees before and after videos (with permission it goes without saying :)) on YouTube and there's a good selection there already: http://www.youtube.com/championseverywhere
