    Hi,

I'm looking to pick up an AV receiver plus a 5.1 speaker set.

Looking at the pioneer "1 box system" on your site. Is this a good setup do you think?

I have Sky, Mac mini and the bluray to run through the receiver. Will HDMI cables will carry audio from the sky box/bluray through the receiver?

I'm a noob to the receiver business, used optical cables and an octava switch upto now!

    Thanks

    Hi Smtdos,

Thanks for getting in touch, and apologies about the delay in getting back to you.

Was this the Pioneer system you were looking at?
    http://www.richersounds.com/product/speaker-packages/pioneer/htp071/pion-htp071

It's a good pack for starting off with. Nice sound and good connectivity.

The only issue is I'm out of stock at the moment, we could try and order one from our warehouse?

If you're looking something a bit sooner you should check out this Denon 5.1 pack:

    http://denon.co.uk/UK/Product/Pages/Product-Detail.aspx?Catid=HomeTheatre&SubId=HomeTheatrePackages&ProductId=DHT1312XP

This has been a very popular pack with us. Bit more to the Denon amp over the Pioneer. The speaker pack is great as well.

It's a little bit more expensive at just £279.95 and delivery on either pack would cost just £12.99 for next working day delivery.

Let me know what you think.

    Chris

Thanks for getting back to me. It was actually this kit:

How does this one compare to the denon?

    Hi again,

    Aah! Completely different level now.

The whole Pioneer package is fantastic for the money. The 521 is a great sounding amp, and the auto calibration is an excellent feature. Especially if this is your first home cinema venture. The option to add on bluetooth is pretty sweet too. :)

The BDP 140 is a excellent blu-ray. Compared to other players around the same price it blows them out of the water. Great sound and picture. You can also connect this into your network at home via ethernet. This will then give you access to Youtube which is pretty cool.

The speaker pack is good for the money, sub packs a good punch to it. Nice compact speakers too.

Good thing about the above system is you get everything you need to get up and running. You can then upgrade each part at a later time if you wanted. But once you get it all up and running I'd say you'll be very pleased.

The only thing you'd need for the above is HDMI cables to connect your amp to the TV and the blu-ray to the amp, speaker cables to connect your speakers to your amp and also a sublink cable for your sub.

I've got everything in stock except the speakers. Got them coming back in tomorrow tho. :)

Let me know what you think.

    Chris
