please forgive, this may be off topic, but Stan, maybe you can settle an argument here in my house, the houses in the background behind me & my brother, are the old tenement houses that arthurs quay now stands on????

Looks like where the skate park is now before they built the bridge across from suttons coals, where the Jurys is now on the dock road

Hey stan great pics first of all. Whats the big ball on that building that is fenced off and also a slab of old concrete near it. I know you can see it coming from shannon but dont know how you get to it.:)

The big ball belongs to IAA and must be some sort of comms equipment.

To get there, head to Cratloe, out the Sixmilebridge Rd, turn right for Cratloe Wood, past these out head up the hill, you will come to staggered X roads, stay on main road (it's very narrow), you pass a few barriers on your right then the Ball will become visible, turn left onto the track to the right that leads up there.

I ride a bicycle all tours (secret missions). Today I was in Shannon! :) By bike! I'm dying.

I found the way to the "ball": http://maps.google.com :D

Thank you for your kind words.

It's good time to go there! I'm 30 years old and I'm very hard to ride uphill.:D

All the best for all. :pac:

There used to be 2 balls up there, they got rid of one hence the slab of concrete. We called them the golf balls when we were kids. Nice view of Limerick from up there :)

Spot on, that's the place, I was out there on Sunday. It's a great spot on a sunny day. Got a new camera last week (30 years of age and this is my first camera) and those are the first pictures I took.

Could ye try not to quote the photos when ye reply, it makes it impossible* to follow the thread.

*well not impossible but it does require far more effort than I am willing to give.

Ah, you know your old when you remember the changing rooms / showers room and seating areas before they were knocked.

Seems to be someone throwing stones at you for a few of your Photos Woody?

    - You're lucky about their crap aim :D

People, it generally good advice not to quote photos on these threads; Means that after scrolling through and appreciating 20 pics we have to see them all again just cause you wanted to post a comment about them (Just saying - No bitching please!!!)
