    fabulous day again today. Not.

For the 3rd time since the M6 opened, a mere 5 months ago, the R347 road has completely disintegrated, this time with the heat. It was so bad, I flat refused to drive on it, and drove inside the hard shoulder, instead, until I got past the offending bits.

This road has now been surfaced 3 times in 5 months, and frankly, it's not good enough. N6 Construction got paid €380 million, iirc, and put down the absolute cheapest, dodgiest material they could get their hands on, once off the lanes of the actual M6. Why aren't the link roads of the same standard ?

    Who has responsibility for these - CoCo's ? M6 PPP ?

Who is supposed to be monitoring the quality of these jobs, and who's carrying the warranty ?

    Ode To The Motorist

“And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, generates funds to the exchequer. You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

The local area engineer, these are just the Athenry - Derrydonnell and Athenry - Craughwell roads are they not or do you mean all the way to Ballinasloe ??

Parts are new road ( realigned and rerouted under the M6) and are part of the M6 contract. Other parts were battered to death by the trucks but are not new road. Which parts do you mean ???

Hound all your local area councillors for starters.
