More than 212,000 passengers are expected to travel through Dublin Airport over the course of the Easter Bank Holiday weekend from Friday 2nd to Monday 5th April.
More than 1,700 flights will arrive and depart during this time including 40 charter flights for holiday-makers in search of sun over the Easter holidays. The most popular sun destinations this weekend are Lanzarote, Tenerife, Fuerteventura and Las Palmas.
Passengers are advised to be in the terminal building at least 90 minutes before their flight departure time irrespective of whether they are checking in at the airport or have checked in on-line. A further 30 minutes should be factored in if passengers are using one of the long-term car parks.
Passengers are also advised to prepare for security screening in advance by removing laptops from cases, belts, outer jackets and sharp objects from hand luggage. Information regarding EU Aviation Security regulations concerning liquids is available on www.dublinairport.com and passengers are advised to familiarise themselves with these BEFORE setting out on their journey to the airport.
The Departures Road is a passenger drop-off area only with clamping and tow-away procedures in place. This road can become quite congested at peak times and vehicles waiting for any length of time will not be facilitated. Customers picking up passengers are urged use the short-term car park.
A spokesperson for the Dublin Airport Authority added, “Between 05.00-07.00am is the absolute busiest time of the day at Dublin Airport. It is imperative that passengers plan to arrive in the terminal at least 90 minutes before their flight departure time irrespective of whether they are checking in at the airport or on-line.”
Dublin Airport will have Customer Care teams on duty this bank holiday weekend. Dressed in bright pink polo shirts they are there to assist passengers through the terminal building.0 -
