Urgent - Need a lawyer for employment law advice

    I feel as though I am being pushed out of my job by my current employer and I need to see if I have a good case for constructive dismissal - on the verge of handing in my notice. Can anyone recommend a lawyer who specialises in employment law?

    Also, would any of them provide this advice for free - no win no fee? I have seen adverts for them before but they are usually only for personal injury claims. I don't really want to pay a couple of hundred euro for 20 minutes advice and then find out that I haven't a chance of getting compensation.

    Go to your local work union and they will file a claim for you if you are being treated unfairly. I filled a claim against a employer who sacked me for no reason I won and got awarded. To join the union its about 70c a week something small. I joined for a month to sort my case wasn't meant to but they allowed me to. Can't think of what the name of the company who deals with things like this. If you speak to you local union they can help.

    The one essential thing you'll need in any case is evidence. Start to document absoloutely EVERYTHING that happens to you at work. Note what was said, by who and in what context. Note witnesses and any positive comments you receive. Keep any letters relating to bonuses, pay raises you have received over the years. Without evidence, you have no case.

    100 percent agree with above. When put on the spot you can forget crucial evidence so writing down in a diary is best option.

    Thanks for the reply. I work for a very large multi-national and nobody in the company is in a union. Did the union basically act like a lawyer for you?

    I have been asking my manager to document things over the last few months as he tends to twist things around after we have meetings. I have been writing down notes as well myself.

    Hey, Yeah the union acts as your lawyer. He will write down a statement which he reads in the location this tribunal will be held. It isn't a court hearing its a women person who comes to a location near you mine was in a hotel they give you a date and you and your union will be there and they person representing it and your employer. If he fails to show then he is kind ways guilty. You both settle agreement between you of what is fair. Now I am going by I got sacked I know your union can advise you on weather to take this matter to a hearing so speak to a union first. The company you go through as I just found letter I got is The Labour relations Commission. There website is www.lrc.ie and phone number is 016136700. Hope this helps.

    Btw your saying that no one is in a union but I certainly advise joining one many companies won't offer a union to you cause at the end of the day its going against them if anything happens. For what it costs join one. You pay direct debit bout 4 euro month. Plus make your own notes on day to day issues that occur not your manager cause he is working for the company which you maybe taking future action against.

    A solicitor is the last place to go for employment law advice. BTW Constructive Dismissal is notoriously hard to prove and you will have to prove that you had no other option other than to resign. Under no circumstances should you resign unless the circumstances are extreme and you have exhausted the internal grievance provedure.

    Thats sound advise above. If you have the last option and feel pushed out/bullied out then you have to. But it is hard to prove that's why I fighted my corner in my employment and stayed and put up with all the **** and eventually he wanted to get rid of me so just fired me on a little thing which wouldn't have been a telling of in other companies. Some bad companies out there who think they can take the p**s out of employees but don't let them fight your ground and get action taken.
