Drove one once and haven't gotten over it yet :(!

'Tis one of the best cars to drive in GTA IV as well!

No body ever mentions this as one of the best-looking cars ever built but I think it's a contenter.

    Peugeot%20504%20Coupe.jpg

Alfa 156, latest Fiat 500, latest Suzuki Swift (!), Defender, Mazda 6 MPS, Alfa 164, Citroen CX/Xantia would be others.

O and the V8 Vantage from Living Daylight was the last cool Aston. Those cars were for understated gentlemen.

These days Astons are just for new-money chavs - footballers, WAGs, property devs, rappers etc.

nice cars, not driven one for well over 10 years now, I love the interiors

I used to have one of those Ctroen BX's - the quicker 16V version. You're dead right about the fabulous interior.

The car that attracts me most is the Lancia Stratos, but not exactly an everyday item.

Where do I start? At one point or another, I have had a hankering for all of these:

Opel Kadett C (this one especially, does anyone else think it's one of the best looking small cars ever?)
    Opel Kadett D
    Ford Escort Mk II
    Ford Cortina Mk I
    Ford Cortina Mk IV
    Fiat Ritmo
    Fiat 127
    Fiat 128
    Fiat Uno
    Volkswagen Beetle
    Volkswagen bay-window camper
    Austin Allegro
    Austin A40 Devon
    Austin Heavy 12
    Austin Princess
    Morris Marina
    Citroen 2CV
    Trabant 601
    Citroen Dyane
    Hillman Imp
    Standard Eight
Renault 4 (scratched that itch :))
    Peugeot 202
    Peugeot 402
Anything made in the United States in the '50's or anything made in Japan in the '70's

There are a lot more too, but that's all that comes to mind at the moment. :)

I get the feeling that most of the posters here didnt actually read the OP.

    Cars no one will notice!!

Somehow I dont think the likes of R34's and Astons fall into this category!!

People that aren't into cars, will look at a skyline and see nissan and probably wouldn't think twice about it.

    An Aston though, you'd notice.

What i meant when i started the thread was what most people would consider "boring, average, mundane, normal or even crap".

Dont thing a nissan skyline or anything like that counts.

Something like a '95 mondeo or a austin Maxi is what was intended.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,185 ✭✭✭NewApproach

Actually what I just posted above, I thought about the car I put up, a bright yellow Saab 900!!!

To be honest I would be just as happy with it in black/silver or grey!!

Maybe if we set a price limit, that would rule out cars that aren't boring or mundane??

edit: Actually that would just turn it into Bangernomics II

    Just what I was thinking.
There's nothing bizarre about being attracted to a supercar developed with an F1 champ such as the NSX.

Volvo 480, I dunno why, I guess it looks somewhat unique but I hear it's a pretty crap car:

I've always has a thing for the Volvo 740/ 760 ... maybe its to do with their brick like appearance.
Got a lift in a Grey 760 years ago and it left an impression

Always thought the idea of a powerful diesel engine in a small car was cool. Get the best of both worlds. Fast car, cheap to run!

    Great choice that volvo!
Always loved them as a youngster.

Then next from the 90's would be the lexus ls400.
Always had a soft spot for carina2 and carinaE.

A saab 900 or an mx5 i think would fall into the list too.

Nowadays suzuki swift don't know why but i love them they just always look like a real modern mini IMO wheels out at the corners, pity the interior sucks, imo too!

Lastly VW pheaton the only people who would turn there heads would know your driving a beast, everyone else would go nice passet.

Lord help me but.....Talbot Tagora SX V6
    1010752tc1.jpg

The short-lived, unloved Tagora wasn't a bad drive. The manual 130mph V6 SX was startlingly quick (0-60 in 8.5 seconds),and handled well on its fat TRX-shod alloys. 17 mpg though.

another car that springs to mind is the old SAAB 900 turbo... they look great, are very comfortable & fast....

    1825_12lo.jpg

    also, the MG Maestro.

I dunno why and i can give no valid reason for it but I'd love a ford scorpio (pre-facelift with the chrome)

    ford_scorpio.jpg

Traded in a 2.9 v6 last yr. could have bought it for €500.
    Was very tempted
