Didn't know there was one. Is it a degree, or what? Also, what sort of certification do you get from it?

    Hi,

Are you talking about CW708, BA (hons) in Law? It's a great course, very interesting but very intensive. The 1st year is tough but the workload is much heavier in 2nd year. Recommended reading is 1 hour per lecture and 3 hours per tutorial and that's only scratching the surface. You might only have 4 lectures a day but you really have to dedicate the time to it or you'll get lost pretty quickly.
Be very careful too if you have a part-time job as it will eat into studying time unless you can get weekend work. It's a real pain to spend all day in college, (although you have some free periods during the day, it is 'hoped' by the lecturers that this is time spend reading.) and then go into work for 4 or 5 hours. It takes its toll very quickly.
Another thing to take into consideration is the books. Law books are pretty expensive and even second hand can be pretty scarce on the ground. You could be talking about 400 euros for new books for 1st year to maybe 250 if you get them 2nd hand.
Hope this doesn't put you off. If you are prepared to put in the time and work it's a very rewarding course. It is only a new course, into its 2nd year but so far so good. Best thing to do if you would like more information is to go on the Carlow IT website, enter the course code and and go to the end of the page, find the course directors link and email her.
    Hope this helps.
    :)
