Exposure Mission Statement

Aims: To promote and encourage young Irish bands and musicians to make those extra steps to becoming better musicians themselves and to give them a real chance of making it in the music industry.

Methods: By staging regular all ages and over 18’s gigs showcasing new and developing Irish bands, giving them a chance to play in front of people who they wouldn’t necessarily have been exposed to before. Then from these gigs, the bands will be given advice on how they might improve as a band or progress further in the music industry. We will then showcase these bands with more highly acclaimed Irish and international acts, with the intent to gain them even more exposure. We will be inviting A&R people from various labels and other music industry professionals to these showcase gigs. We will also be helping these acts with issues such as advertising and promoting themselves (which seems to be a huge problem in the Irish music industry especially among young bands). Bands also seem to forget that there is a huge market for music outside of Dublin not only in the pale. We also have plans to get a magazine printed , promoting and advertising bands, events and the underground music scene in general.

Things To Note:
• You do not need to be in a band who are just starting/beginning to work with us, we will work with any bands from the least experiences to the most experienced.
• We are not a record company or label, and we will not be asking the bands to sign any documents.
• We are a non-government organization and we do not receive any funding from the government, art-council and as of yet any other body. We will however be negotiating sponsorship deals with various companies in exchange for advertising ect, in order to further the exposure and assistance these bands receive.
• Any advice the bands we work with are given will be objective. The advice will be what we believe will further them as an act and what will assist them in any way to become closer to their dream. We set out to help these bands, not to offend them and s any advice given will be presented to the bands in the nicest way possible.
• We will not be asking for any money from the bands. Our gigs are not set up in a “pay-to-play” format. We will ask that bands do genuinely have the hunger to



• expand their talent and are willing to co-operate and do whatever it takes to make it in the music industry. We will however be asking the bands for any demos they have recorded and also maybe a meeting before we work with the band.
• For additional meetings regarding advice ect. We will however be asking a small fee of 10 euro.

Reasons To Work With Us:
• You will be getting free advice regarding industry skills and any other skills which may help you along the way!
• You will be getting the opportunity to play in front of audiences you wouldn’t have been playing to before.
• You will be getting the opportunity to play in venues in towns and city’s other than the ones you currently frequent/play.
• You will be playing with bands who you have not played with before, hence exposing you to their audiences and vice versa.
• We will be organizing gig swaps with bands from Ireland and abroad so it will be an opportunity for you to play in totally different environments.
• You will be getting the opportunity to play with much more established Irish and international acts in bigger venues to bigger crowds.
• Bands will receive a lot of publicity, through many different mediums.
• Bands will receive a lot of experience they wouldn’t be getting otherwise.



Things We Ask In Return:
• We will ask that bands are genuinely and actively interested in helping themselves and each other.
• The whole emphasis of “Exposure” is that the bands are receiving all of this for free. We cannot run all of this without co-operation from all the bands playing.
• We will ask that bands have a demo for us if possible.
• And most of all we ask that bands have the hunger to succeed, and will do whatever it takes to progress in the music industry.
