AH, I need your help. I'm looking to buy a Rome postcard, are there any shops in Dublin that sell them? Appreciate the help.

Have you considered making one? Something like this on one side, the usual on the other, and then get a print-shop to actually print it, assuming you can't yourself?

Might have a poke around George's St Arcade. You'll be lucky though.

    Contact the Italian embassy?

Or the Italian Cultural Institute on Fitzwilliam Square http://www.iicdublino.esteri.it/iic_dublino/it/

Tell us the real story OP.

How did you end up in Dublin when you're meant to be in Rome?

"Didn't you get that postcard I said I'd send you from Rome? The postal service is terrible!"

*I'd better follow through on that promise, even though I'm home*

Isn't there a Rome Postcard Shop on Grafton St.?

Remember the stamp and postmark will be from Dublin when you post it

Get one from Cork and use tippex to correct it. Most people would not know the difference between Cork and Rome.

Get someone in Rome to post you one. Call the Pope...he'll sort you out. He's sound like that.

Down by the Rome shop and Rome's R US, matter of fact, I think they are all in the Rome district.

OP won't they notice an Irish postage stamp on it?

If he went with my suggestion of designing one, it'd be a matter of just snipping one of these postmarks to where the stamp should be. If there a date on it, it could be smudged. Then stick it in the recipient's letter-box.

Maybe OP is going to argue that he definitely sent it and then he "finds" it in his suitcase.. and they laugh and joke about how silly he/she is.

I have to agree with the above OP.
It's very easy to confuse Pana with the Via del Corso, so just send a couple of photos of yourself from the former and say you're in the latter.
    Simples.

What did the Romans ever do for us?

You could try the Italian quarter. Even if you can't get a post card you will get a tasty pizza.

Thanks for all the replies. It looks like the option of printing one is what I'm going to go for. Although I will check out the place on Fitzwilliam Square.

No, I won't be posting it anywhere! I'm taking my better half to Rome for a weekend and the postcard will be given to her with "see you soon, love from Rome" (or something like that) written on the back.

Today if possible. Or tomorrow at a stretch. So online ordering would be out.

You can probably get printable postcards in any half decent stationary shop?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,043 ✭✭✭Story Bud?

Or just google postcard templates and get some card and a scissors.

Aw and you could print off Italian stamps onto a label and stick it to the printed out postcard!

    I love this sh*t.

The first reply here linked to a pretty good looking postcard - my plan is to print it in Read's on hard card and then just write on the back. It won't really matter that it's not a "real" postcard, I just thought I'd check in case there was somewhere that'd have them (long shot I know).
