Teen Porn

I was using my boyfriend's laptop earlier and I noticed some things that had been searched for in google. Some of them were harmless enough searches like 'teenies', 'teen pu**y' etc. One really grabbed my attention though - 'very young girls'.

I've no problem with porn at all and I can't understand girls who go mad when they find out their boyfriend watches/uses porn. The teeney bit I can handle. I'm looking for comments on the 'very young girls' search. I really don't like this.

Is this absolutely terrible? Or is it a case of a bad call during a 'heated moment'?

I didn't say anything to him because I wanted to get my head around it first. Also, the other lads he lives with use the computer too.

I would not look to deeply into this. Fair enough, all guys look at porn and you seem okay with that (in some way).

You seem to be thinking about this too much though. If the search had "early teen" or something in it then i would be more concerned. As you say also, it could have been any of the other people he lives with.

I'd give him the benefit of the doubt this time. If you still upset then confront him in a joky way about it. Like the next time you use the computer say "Oh my God, who is looking for yound girls on the internet?" Judge his reaction then!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12,382 ✭✭✭✭AARRRGH

That's dodgy alright, although it could have been one of the other lads he lives with.

If you look at his "temporary internet files" you might be able to see when those sites were accessed. If he was home alone at that time...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,225 ✭✭✭Ciaran500

TBH I wouldn't worry about it unless its more than just one search word. What he was searching for and what you think that sound like might be completely different.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,166 ✭✭✭Cheeky_gal

Eh, would that not be considered complete paedophilia?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,579 ✭✭✭Webmonkey

I would not look into this much at all. He was probably so horny and wanted to be bad and try find some 17 year old girl or something meaning she was under 18 - probably would have turned him on more. Almost certain he was not looking to find children if that is what you were thinking as he would have probably used different keywords.

Anyways I would not worry about it!

i would be very worried about that
it sounds to me like he was looking for pictures of very young girls
how young were the girls is the important question
and u should investigate this further

Just noticed it was very young girls - Didn't see the very in there. Hmm

That is true - OP, it all depends on what he thinks is very young. I doubt he is into what you are hoping he is not.

I cant believe some peoples posts on this. In my opinion I would investigate this further. And take it very seriously.

    1. We don't even know if he was the one who searched for it.
    2. Theres no way you can say with any certainty at all he was searching for underage porn, I wouldn't go jumping to such a damaging conclusion based on one search. If you looked through my search history I'm sure you'd find alot of odd things that could be taken out of context. Maybe he was just looking for a suitable image to reply to a thread with, I do it all the time.

It's possible he's interested in "jailbait". These are teenage girls, clothed, showing a lot of skin or in suggestive poses. It's very different than child porn, but it's still a bit dodgy alright.

What age is your boyfriend OP?

yeah mine too. but you wouldn't find anything with "very young girls" on it. Im sorry but i would never search "very young girls" because i suspect some of the results i would get would be suspect to say the least. My interpretation of very young would be under 18. An 18 y o is an adult, albeit a young woman not a young girl

thats it. its the girl bit. very young woman is 18 maybe even 17. 'girls' a completely different ball game.

The mixed responses match what's going on in my head. At one end I'm thinking 'wow, that's way out of order wtf!' and at the other end I'm thinking 'he picked an ambiguous search term while looking for legal porn'.

He's not very net-savvy, leading to more confusion:
    A. If he was looking for child porn, he may well have thought he would get if from google
    B. As noted by another user, he didn't include the word 'child' or any sexual term in the search -although 'girl' to me is a female under 18
    C. He doesn't post on forums so I can't think of any other reason why he would be searching for 'very young girls'. It was definitely a sexual thing.

There were no other searches for anything other than teens, which is a relief.

He's 30btw so it is possible that a 'young girl' to him is one of the legal age. A 'very young girl', I'm not so sure.

When there are any rape cases in the media (I don't mean just underage) he reacts like 'that bastard, if anyone did anything like that to my sister I'd ****ing kill him'. I don't think he's a sexual deviant but the fact remains that he did search for 'very young girls' (assuming it was him, not one of the other lads).

How do I check temporary internet files? I had a quick look on my own laptop there and can't figure it out. Will looking in the history help? Or, God forbid, if there was anything untoward looked at, will this just bring it up for me? I dont' want that!

He may have been looking into purchasing a gift for a niece. None of the words 'very' 'young' and 'girls' are overtly sexual although it might be a tad disingenuous to suggest this.

Paedophilia is the sexual attraction to children. Prepubescence being a requirement. Finding a sexually mature teenage girl physically appealing is normal. Acting on it however, if they're below the age of consent is statutory "rape". People guilty of this crime are not labeled paedophiles or child molesters. Nor are they sick, they're usually just idiots.

A lot of porn is labeled "Teen". It usually means 18-20 year old girls that happen to look young. It's a pretty innocent thing to be looking at IMO.

    Indeed.

ok,phew every time i go to reply a new post catches my eye.that and goddamed timeouts.
OP if i were you i'd do some more sleuthing, i dunno what your area of computer expertise is though, but everyone probably knows that you never really totally delete something of a computer. (well almost never)
i did my social studies assignment of child pornography and the like in college, and people are often caught out.
that said i wouldnt jump to the conclusion (at least for now) that thats what he(or housemate) was up to.
Also, theres a whole series of porn on the internet called teen porn, and the models/actresses whatever, are all 18 +. its just they look younger (theres disclaimers and crap)
Jailbait is still dodgey is correct.
(found that out when posting some of the humor posters joking about jailbait and got me an infraction.then again i found out at least one of the models was one of those "teen models" and 20 lol)
Tweeny porn (i kid you not) was a term in the papers a good bit, and that crap is totally illegal.(Tween as in between teen)

'very young girls'. however is a very worrying search to come across and i totally understand why you'd freak out. but dont give the game away so to speak (if he's done nothing wrong, trust issues may arise/if he has,he could cover his tracks).
if you want to go down the road of reporting him, there is an irish branch for such things, i'll go dig out that essay and find the links and info.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,509 ✭✭✭✭randylonghorn

    Spot on the nose.

OP, if whoever put in those search terms was looking for child porn, would they not have searched for that, or for similar terms?

While I can understand your being concerned, I would be slow to jump to conclusions.

    Assuming he's using Internet Explorer...

    Open Internet Explorer

    Tools -> Internet Options

In the "Browsing History" section in the middle of the screen click "Settings"

Click "View Files" on the right of the screen.

    A window will pop up.

Have a look at the websites in there. Note some of the "Internet Address" links may be from banner adverts which are hosted somewhere else, i.e. it doesn't mean he definitely went to that Internet Address himself.

That's ridiculous. Because he doesn't post in forums, then it means it's definitely a sexual thing. Would you think it was sexual if he searched for donkey, bicycle or oven mitt?

When you say you "noticed some things in google" I presume you mean the autocomplete kicked in (it's the box that drops down when you start typing). If so then those terms could have been typed in there at any stage during the life of the computer by anyone who has used it.

I wouldn't think so. He was at one stage searching for porn but there is no way we can know if he was searching for "Teen pussy" around the same time he was searching for "very young children". The time between those searches could have been seconds, minute, months even years apart.

Very young girls is suspect but hardly damning porn evidence.

Good post. You will see in videos women 30 odd and then claiming to be "just gone 18". He could seriously have been looking for women/girls of 18-21. People are getting hung up on the word "girl" too, I know women in work of 35-45 who call each other girls. "very" could simply be another filter tool, maybe not.

It could well have been a joke too, with lads in the house. Also seems a bit of a "father ted" attempt to search for true paedophillia. I know lads who set peoples home pages to dodgy sites as a joke. And lads who are on the laptop, leave the room and come back to a google search like that. Yes it is not a joking matter, and they would probably never joke about it in front of women or people outside their group- I am just saying fact is lads can joke about such things.

There was a talk show on living today with a real paedophile who had a website giving tips, was very disturbing, chilling comments from him, thought he was doing no real wrong. Thought the host was going to smack him at one stage, the host was the "bouncer" from the jerry springer show, big intense lad.

Ok, this is assuming that the searches were made by your boyfriend, not his housemates.
Some of them were harmless enough searches like 'teenies', 'teen pu**y' etc.
I'd have absolutely no problem with my boyfriend watching porn either, but "teen pussy"? That is not something I'd like to see. And who's to say these teens aren't 15? I'd consider it rather sad of my boyfriend to go searching for sexual imagery featuring females who are barely women. People can reply all they want that it's the norm, but it isn't really. I mean fair enough for a guy to find a mature-looking 16-year-old physically attractive, but she looks older than 16. If a guy finds a "young looking" 16-year-old physically attractive well I'd consider that problematic. And for websites to feature such girls and marketing their young age as one of the chief attractions, well then that is borderline paedophilia.

As for the "very young girls" thing - it might only mean 17-year-olds but then again it might mean much younger. Anyway, if "very young girls" means 17-year-olds to him, wouldn't they be covered in the "teen pussy" search?

And considering his use of the above "beautiful" search term, it's naive of posters to suggest that his "very young girls" search is for non-sexual purposes.

Teens i suppose are 18/19 (Teenager and legal) - but the porn world is plastered with 'teen' - guess it turns on people and makes the industry money. Anyways I would see searching for young girls worse than searching for teen this, teen that.

But yes I think she did mention he was around 30 years old somewhere - I dunno if that makes things worse.

Dudess, I have seen women who were blatantly over 30 described as "teens" on websites on the basis of a ponytail, a school skirt and a badly assumed "innocent" expression.

You have to remember that the world of p0rn, and especially of web p0rn, bears no relationship to reality whatsoever.

Which is why I partly wonder if the OP or one of his housemates, coming in half-shot one night, and confronted with a few such sites with predominantly mutton dressed as lamb, may have thrown "very young girls" into the search box in frustration, and without really thinking it through.
