It is a Soamedy :p (It has it all soap opera element, comedy and drama)

It will end where it all began Mary Alice trying to kill herself but fails, she wakes up it was all a dream :P

Yes my wife and I are also hoping to watch Desperate Housewives season 8 on RTE. We don't have cable and use the online RTE.ie player to watch local TV. I wish their website was more forthcoming about their future schedule. Is there any chance it will not be aired on RTE?

As someone relatively new to Ireland, I'm not familiar with the pattern of how RTE chooses and airs TV shows from the US. Since there will be spoilers on the Internet (here included), it would be so wonderful if they were only a few days behind the US broadcast. Anyone else know for sure? Thanks!

    US broadcast started weeks ago.

As far as I remember, the US are usually weeks ahead when RTE start showing it but the US must take breaks because about half way through Ireland end up being only one episode behind.

    Last season ever?

Good imo. The series and plotlines have gone seriously downhill in the past few years IMO.

i love desperate housewives its my guilty pleasure!....but to be honest it has gone downhill in recent years since the blond girl was killed off what was her name....edie...she was my favourite one. but i will still watch this season. the other girl with the red hair who swapped her daughter with a romanian orphan...cant remember her name, but she was in a new series recently and it was ok, she was a crime solving pathologist, bit ott and funny when it wasnt supposed to be, anyone watch, her mother looked younger than she did and made me squirm everytime she had a scene not a good advertisement for botox or face lifts....yeuck

the twists and turns can be spotted a mile away at this stage , its obvious that bree,s ex ( the cop ) and the aussie guy know each other already if you know what i mean

That episode annoyed the hell out of me. André stole Susan's paintings, displayed them without permission and she just stood back whimpering like a little puppy! And then when she says she's miserable about it, he says now she knows how it feels to be an artist.

I'd rather rip them off the wall than let someone do that without my permission. Asshole.

I am irrationally annoyed by those last freaking ten minutes :pac:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,695 ✭✭✭Lisha

I found it rather annoying myself, but Ffs, Susan making a show of herself only increased people s interest in the painting, and getting the subjects to stand around it was rediculous

are people watching this online/on E4?

    i am now,

i was really curious about where Tom & lynette were going so i googled some spoilers and im wondering if they are true

(possible - as in im guessing here) MAJOR spoiler alert!
is it true that Tom dies? i heard its one of the husbands aka Tom Mike or Carlos and i can see both Mike and Carlos mentioned in the episodes on wiki after the funeral where Tom and Lynette are not.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 87,485 ✭✭✭✭JP Liz V1

    Is it
    Mike
    that dies?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 561 ✭✭✭slowmoe

Omg i'm actually traumatised after that!! Are there any more deaths on the way or i that the big one that has mentioned?

I just want tom and lynette to get back together! He clearly still loves her. Theres something sinister about the new girlfriend, the way she came up rubbing toms back when himself and lynette were talking about Mike, it annoyed the hell out of me!

Probably RTE2 ... they have a good record with this show in particular. I've seen the finale and it is worth it. Pity about seasons 6 and most of 7 though. Would have been a classic otherwise.

Next week is the finale on RTE but RTE arent showing it as a double episode on one night they broke it into two episodes so 2 weeks left on RTE

I'd love to see a spin off show
about Bree the politician and her lawyer fella

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 380 ✭✭ScottSF

I don't know if this is a spoiler, but I thought
there was some hint that they might start the show all over again with a new cast (same street)
. I bought the season on iTunes (US) so already finished watching the season several weeks ago :)

    Just saw this:
Kathryn Joosten, the Emmy Award-winning actress best known for playing Mrs McCluskey in Desperate Housewives has died after a long battle with lung cancer. She was 72.

WARNING: Possible Finale Spoiler in the link:
    http://www.rte.ie/ten/2012/0603/joostenk.html

so was she acting the final season or was it real life for her?

either way im saddened by the news she was so brilliant an actress.

    :(

I just watched the last show there
    AM a little disappointed
I hate the fact they never get to meet up again

Maybe it was just so final.

    Rip Kathryn Joosten

Her death in reality made the last episode that more poignant.

The final could have done with a shot of Edie at least she did die on the lane where as some of the others didnt die there

  • Registered Users Posts: 188 ✭✭Little Miss Lady

    You are absolutely right
I had forgotten all about her and she was such a huge character in it

She sued the producer for assault

Maybe it was Edie in the box :D

I was a bit disappointed with the ending. I didn't know they'd separated into two episodes, it might have made better viewing keeping them together.

Renee's one liners were great :D

So they never see each other again? After so many years on the Lane and all the murders, suicides, plane crashes and hurricanes are we really to believe they never got back in the same room together?

You have to admire them all the same for finishing with a full stop instead of leaving it open in case the reruns resurrect a bit of faux nostalgic interest.

I thought the wedding scene really highlighted the cast tensions. There they all were clinking glasses and Terri Hatcher wasn't even in the same room :D

I was a bit disappointed that they didn't show us what the future held for Susan and Julie.

Other than that they seemed to wrap everything else up well, but I can definitely see 'Desperate Houswives: The Next Generation' coming along with a new cast in a decade or so.

i think it goin go be a lot sooner than a decade for the next cast tbh

Knew there would be no way in hell they would let Edie back even for a glimpse after the whole real life court battle!

So they never see each other again? After so many years on the Lane and all the murders, suicides, plane crashes and hurricanes are we really to believe they never got back in the same room together?

Think it hinted that they didn't ALL get back together in the same room but that probably means there was occasions when 2 or 3 got to meet up. In fairness they did spread out all over the country and think
    Gabby+Carlos
even moved abroad? So over the years doesn't matter how close yous were things get in the way of reunions! :/

Yeah was surprised at that too!

    Recognised a lot of the
    ghosts
but some I haven't a clue who they are or really remember their storyline. But who the hell was the
    wee ghost boy with Karen
    ??

They didn't move abroad, they moved to California. I felt the end for Susan and Julie was really ambiguous, they didn't mention anything about Porter and if he was involved with the baby at all.

Ultimately I felt the whole season was poor overall, they introduced a few new characters that the audience didn't really have time to connect with and the finale felt very rushed.
