Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I didn't notice a thread for this so forgive me if there is one. I'm currently smoking Golden Virginia with green Rizla and Rizla ultra slim filters, was previously smoking Consulate. What are you smoking?

Marlboro Lights (they'll never be Gold).
Currently alternating my way through American and Dutch cartons.
The Americans are a tad too light tasting whilst the Dutch only have 19 in a box,
at least it beats paying the Paddy tax.

    Nothing.

I was smoking Marlboro Lights, but with the Achill Half Marathon in July, and my GF constantly complaining, I've decided to come off them for the forseeable..

    Man I'd love a smoke!

Amber leaf small pack and 10 rothmans a day have paid 55eurs for a box of 2 week patches so going to use them soon when ready to give up pure waste of hard earned cash

Box of Amber leaf. Excellent for the money conscious. 4.60 for a box with a pouch, skins and filters inside.

  • Registered Users Posts: 39 Galwayguy20

+1 for the amber leaf, really handy and cheap so they're great. Also almost everywhere sells them so that's always good.

Can you buy this in any shop?
How many rollies would you get out of a box?

  • Registered Users Posts: 39 Galwayguy20

Yup, well I've never found a place that doesn't sell them, and they tend to be the only ones they sell in cigarette machines in pubs. I'd usually get more than 30 out of a pouch anyway but I might just be rolling them a bit skinny.

I'm rolling up some Amber Leaf right now.
Feeling a bit cheap but the value is great xD

    50 Papers, 30 Filters and 12.5 for €4.60. What's not to love?

American Spirit or Pueblo hand rolling tobacco

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,545 ✭✭✭SteoL

At the moment I am on Samson original blend, blue rizla and ultra slim filters. When I buy cigarettes (rare enough these days) I find Mayfair Dark Blue very nice.

    Pipe on special occasions.

I'm just doing the same now, bought my first box today. Also bought a round baler for making them up. Serious value, I'll easily get 30 or more out of the pouch.

    Hehe,

Even though I put less tobacco into a rollie using Amber Leaf, it seems to last a lot longer than my Drum rollies. It's weird. Perhaps it's the moist-ness of Amb that makes it like that. But I have to say, what's not to like about longer smokes? xD

Silk Cut Blues, I ended my love affair with Marlboro Reds a while back and cut to Blues after weaning down via the S.C Purples.

I still treat myself to a box of Marlboro Reds on special occasions, they're the undisputed king of cigarettes in my opinion.:pac:

I'm another one who smokes amber leaf. Though I only started buying them because the shop near my house doesn't seem to ever have golden virginia

Cutters Choice. Changed from AL to CC, as I'm finding Amber Leaf to not taste the best lately.

Another Amber leaf smoker here. Went from smoking JP blue to Drum to amberleaf; I didn't like it in the beginning but of course that didn't put me off smoking:( Get about 30 out of each pack so they are very cheap comparted to having to buy pouch, filters , papers.

I still like to have the odd pre rolled smoke but the filter feels so large compared to the small filters of the tobbacco and tbh don't taste as nice.

Have gone from blue rizla to grey rizla. Find green/red/other too papery now :/

I have smoked Palmall Blues since 2004, when they were Winfield. Because they've always been cheaper. I can't be doing with rollies, just never could! If stuck and can't get PalMalls I buy Silk Cut Purple, only cause they were the one I smoked before the Palmalls.

The green Rizla are only good when it's dark, as you don't have to see the gum side, as it'll be the side where the edges aren't cut, but other than that I'd prefer blue, or if I can get grey, I'll use the grey Rizla instead.

Another brand that you'll find is a brand called "Smoking" which I think has better grey papers than Rizla.

HATE the bullbrand filters with a passion. Rizla are good, and so are Swan, but Swan filters tend to "shrink" easier when holding them than the Rizla.

Yeah exactly I use the green when in a rush, as i am always rolling just before work, while heading out etc just fast I have the green, then when im chillaxing i can sit back and enjoy a blue :) can you get the smaller grey/silver rizlas, in Ath all i can get is the kingsize and thats an absolute joke of a rolling paper!

I only got the bullbrand to try them out, i am giving absolutely everything a go, even though i know i wont find better than Rizla, I am search and searching for Menthol filters and do you think i can find them anywhere, I think Swan make them but the availibility is shocking and i am dying to try as the rollies replaced consulae/choice and mayfair menthol :(

I've started smoking a pipe after my grandfather gave me one of his pipes. I don't like all those flavoured tobaccos, I prefer something like navy flake.

Marlboro Lights, failing that, Silk Cut Blue. I enjoy the occassional menthol :pac: Love Silk Cuts idea of the filter that can be changed to menthol, and for anyone else who also does, cheaper version now available from Pall Mall called "Click"
