Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

It is true that Science is 23 hours+ in First year yeah? :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 356 ✭✭Bobsammy

Pretty much, depending how many labs you do! The upside is there's nowhere near as much reading or assignments as the Arts courses

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 699 ✭✭✭Boeing777

Ok I'll be prepared for a busy timetable so!

Do you have to attend all the lectures or can you skip one or two? ;):pac: I know attendance for tutorials will go towards continuous assessment so I won't be avoiding them. I presume the labs are mandatory?

    GO TO ALL YOUR LECTURES.

I'm sorry, but that can't be emphasised enough, especially in first year science. Labs are mandatory too.

Oh I do plan on going to them all I just wondered would it be the end of the world if you couldn't attend one or two of them!

I'm not going to college for the spin every day! :pac:

Ah one or two missed isn't the end of the world once you catch up and don't make a habit of it! Labs and tutorials are very important though.

One or two lectures missed isn't a big deal, but do your best to get to them all. I'd you do miss some, read up on the notes and keep up to date.

I have nearly 16,000 tweets. But I'm still on not very many posts on here.
    Is that better, or worse?

I don't want college to come back, because I'm not coming back. You guys can't continue without me?!

Haha I'm the total opposite - have loads of posts on here, but only like 700 tweets. I go through phases of using it loads, and then not using it for a few weeks.

I use Twitter as a news feed. Have never posted there though.

I'm getting excited. I love the going back to college part of the year. The weather hasn't gotten cold and people are so full of enthusiasm and not all stressed like in March/April/May. And I love seeing people I haven't seen for four months. And I love the bit where you've started classes but haven't yet been hit with essay deadlines.

First thing we have to teach these new first years is that they must beat Trinity students in every aspect of their lives. Failure will not be tolerated.

well the fact that we dont talk like we have marbles in our mouths or have a crippling cocaine addiction by the end of first year has surely put us ahead already.

It's a well known fact that Maynooth students better in every way. However, we must now prove it.

I suggest we start culling any undesirables twice yearly.

Ill lay out traps with thick rimmed glasses and starbucks to remove the hipsters, you lay out a load of marxist waffle and soviet flags and get rid of that shower , then well hold a pro life picnic and pull a jonestown on them , perfect maynooth afterwards

Perfect! Has to be set up by registration day. Dont want to look like we have a load of drop outs.

I just realised that I never had the honor to see one of the pro life protests - that could be fun :(
