Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Defo a red from Quigley. Got the ball for the free, both feet left the ground though from what I saw.

There's a difference between both feet leaving the ground to win the ball and both feet leaving the ground after winning the ball.

With the benefit of the Shels TV highlights it certainly looks like both feet are off the ground from start to finish. He did get the ball, no doubt about that. If it was against Shels, I'd probably be complaining but by the letter of the law the ref has probably called it right. Playing the ball first is not the only consideration when a ref has to call a decision.

I'm watching MNS now. Maybe I'm on another planet but I didn't think Martin's tackled deserved a red for Bohs, Ventre's tackle was a foulf for Hughes' goal and Quigley's was deserved.

EDIT: Seeing the replay Quigley's does look a red.

I never thought I'd see Hawkins score for Rovers

Martin's tackle was red. From what I hear, Bohs team thought so too.

With the benefit of nearly being right in line with it from the New Stand (granted it's a bit away), it was definitely a red. Mind you it was never a freekick that resulted in our goal, was sussy about it on Friday and MNS/ShelsTV proved it definitely wasn't.

ShelsTV highlights are here: http://shelstv.com/ and will be for every Shels match this season as usual for those of you interested/miss games.

I was standing directly behind Quigley when he made the 'tackle'. He controled the ball badly and deliberately kicked out at an opposition player when he realised he'd lost it. Red all day long.

Nothing wrong with Danny's tackle. He'd thrown himself about a bit before that too and I think the ref gave the free and card as a warning. Shels took advantage, great strike.

North soccer fans' bus smeared with excrement after Sligo match

SEVERAL buses carrying Glentoran football fans were broken into during a match in Sligo and human waste was left on one coach.

A woman's handbag, house and car keys and coats were stolen in the incident as the Belfast club played Rovers in the Setanta Cup competition last night.

All buses carrying fans from Glentoran supporters' clubs were escorted inside the Showgrounds to what was believed to be a secure car park before the match.

Excrement was smeared along the floor of one of the buses during the break-in.

Local gardai are investigating after officers at the ground received one complaint of theft and a full statement was being taken today.

It is believed the buses were broken into through the emergency exits while the match was on.

Glentoran were beaten 2-0 by Sligo Rovers in the quarter-final tie.

RT @hagan_utv: Correction: Glentoran fans bags rifled when bus broken into in Sligo. Intruders defecated on seats. Sligo fans not involved.

Disgusting behaviour matter who did it.

Were the buses inside the ground?

No doubt in my mind that this was not done by our fans. It happened during the game. Celtic jersey wearing scumbags at a guess.

Doesn't matter who did it though, its disgusting and inexcusable.

Was it Celtic fans spitting at Kavanagh last week as well?

Why can't the League of Ireland have its own forum? ( Fecking Spurs have one ).

I know foot.ie is out there, but nobody likes me there :-(

Even from a point of view like finding out links like Shels TV to links to commentary.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 15,693 Mod ✭✭✭✭dfx-

There probably could be an LOI links thread...or in the behemoth that is the LOI rumours thread...

drea...Pats' Commentary, commentary from Derry radio for Brandywell games, SRFCTV/commentary, ShelsTV, Dundalk radio commentary etc.

    Even the following would suffice.

    LOI links

    LOI rumours.

    LOI current match schedule.

LOI old match schedule ( merged from above )

It was hilarious looking back at the goal on ShelsTV and seeing one of the Sligo players break from the wall and be three yards closer to the ball without anyone touching it. He moved one way, then the other and had absolutely no ideas what was going on. :pac:

It's a shít forum anyway, populated by everything that is wrong with LoI fans, and horrible Ireland fans

hurray for that thread, iv basically given up on the soccer forum. have a quick look every so often but otherwise that thread kept my boards loi needs all winter. the our own club forum supplies the rest
i get the idea of not wanting to break up the forums but soccer is just too big to leave as one... its probably the biggest outside of AH and maybe motors but AH is a general thing and motors is nicely split up and just easy to find what you want

Totally agree. Foot.ie does serve a purpose though, as a kind of holding cell for gobshlts

So has anyone got a list of Friday's attendances and also how does everyone think the co-efficient will fare after Europe this year? These are the important stats, not goals scored, points or anything like that.
