didn't take long for the pumas to find their to the bargain bins

Off topic, but, how do you find the 300's? If I'm going to get a pair I'd rather have the 250's...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,196 ✭✭✭PaulieC

They are very light, but the upper feels quite flimsy and lets your foot slide around a bit. I find that when I land, my toes push right up and over the edge of the sole. I'd use the for up to 5/6 miles. Funnily enough, the 200/250s look like they have a more robust upper.
On the plus side, they are certainly not boring and I've hard loads of 'nice runners' type comments. They're not for retiring types :-)

hmmm you didn't noticed if they had wimmens ones did you? :)

Sorry, I didn't think of looking. The colours they had available were very much unisex though.

Yeah, I was quite surprised at that because ironically enough I'd just bought a pair of 300s in the Elverys sale for €60. Elverys are obviously giving the Faas range a big push. They had them prominently on dispay in the window (Suffolk St) and had a area of shelving dedicated to them in the running section. For that reason I wasn't expecting to see them in TKMaxx. Buying in Elverys cost me an extra fiver but I got the colour I wanted, a slightly more discreet black and blue, as well as a free pair of socks. Tried them out last night and absolutely love them.

Thanks popped in today they had green ones and blue ones. Decided against it as the soles seemed a bit to rigid for my liking and I was trying to save money. An hour later I had a pair of road-x 155 in my posession which were twice the price...

I spotted technical t-shirts on sale for €3 in Pennys yesterday & couldn't stop myself buying one, looks to be fine. This was in the branch on Patrick St in Cork so not sure if it's everywhere.

I got a free 16 week membership code for the Full Potential Runclub with a pair of runners I bought from sweatshop.co.uk so if anyone wants it just fire me a PM. No idea how beneficial it might be but they claim it's normally £20/month.

Some decent deals there but the 305s are not amongst them. Why pay £118 for a refurbished one when Amazon has new ones for £114?

Was just about to post that myself. Although if you have beautiful and nimble dainty little feet like myself it's not much good in the runners area, for some reason their sizes start at 8. Pity as I was going to grab myself a pair of Ravenous, but even at that they only had the Ravenous Stability in a size 8. Could be good for all you giant footed freaks though. Some nice gear but didn't need any so just grabbed myself a decent pair of running gloves.

Anyone got an idea of fit on Inov 8 shoes, I take a 10 in Nike and NB runners and most other shoes. I was thinking of getting the Roclite 285 or 319 so they'll be for offroad running only.

I find them on generous side, but I do Nike also (I'm a 10), but NB D fitting ok as I'm a narrow fit.
So my Nike sz10 Lunars are too big, my NB 106X sz10 fit perfectly and I've Inov8 f230 lites and Mudroc 290's are both sz 9.5 and feel more like the Nike fit.
    Hope that makes sense.

Are you going to check out 53 Degrees North Head the Wall, they have a half decent selection of Innov8s in there at 33% off, might be good to ring ahead if you do for sizes and corresponding shoe though. I find my Roclite 295s bang on, I'm a size 7 and their size 7 fits me perfectly.

Okay tried on a few pairs in London and 10.5 seems to be the best fit for me, ten seems to be a bit too tight. Just have to decide which ones to get now, I will probably be using these for training as well as racing and I'm just under 13 stone so the 319 is probably a better choice than the 285.

Popped into Base2Race today to pick up a pair of shoes, and was told they're selling Asics Piranha for half-price for the next few days. Figured it was worth a mention. Not really a light racing shoe type runner myself, so didn't avail of the deal, but figured others here might be interested.

I think it was €115, so down to €60, but best to consult with them directly for actual figures.

*Edit* Updated figures. It's on their Facebook site now.
