Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I always thought he was a great in ring worker for such a big man. I think he's one of the top 5 best all round wrestlers ever

For most of his first ten years in WWF he was pretty poor in the ring. His character saved him imo. Wasn't really until around the time of the ABA gimmick that he started to improve in the ring and now he has hardly wrestled in the last five years. He had a period of only five or six years where he did it on a consistent basis. Even then, I still wasn't a huge fan of him.

Also notice, no Rock or Austin either ;)

Yup and no Jericho either. For a man who enjoys in ring workers I'm shocked you did not put jericho on your list

Jericho's last few runs have counted against him for me. He was on my not so short list but didn't make it in the end. Ten years (maybe even five years) ago he'd have been pushing for a top five spot, but he's done very little since then and his dull as dull can be character doesn't help him any. I've even become less of a fan of his in recent years.

But how do you judge in-ring ability? In my opinion there are three things - moveset, match psychology and bump-taking ability!! There are some wrestlers with plenty of moves but can be quite boring to watch and take very few risks in the ring. Others have a limited moveset but have a great understanding of how to build a match, get the crowd involved and keep people guessing as to who will win. Others make up for their lack of skill by putting their body on the line night after night. Edge and Shawn Michaels for example are two guys who I think combine all three. Undertaker might not have as diverse a moveset as others but he always understood how to put on great matches and was entertaining to watch.

Of course, my 20 was more than about in-ring ability - I wouldn't put Undertaker no.1 if it was, although he'd still be up there.

Excellent list I must say! Cannot flaw the top ten, even if Dynamite Kid isn in it :p, and I'm delighted Benoit made the top ten.

    Well done Cactus, great job!

Any top 100 that doesnt have Hogan in the top 10 is a good list by my standards. :pac:

Well done, shocked at Flair only barely making the top ten and the Hulkster not!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,491 ✭✭✭thebostoncrab

You know what's surprising? AJ ranking higher than CM Punk, did not see that coming

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,335 ✭✭✭Bandana boy

    Fair play CC
Gotta say I like the look of that list a few surprises though
The charisma black hole Ben oit in the top 10 boo!
And Danielson (who i really really like )rating so high already
I fully expect him to be worth that spot or higher in a few years but not sure he has earned it yet
That I was the only vote for the Road Dog !
And how the hell did Kevin Nash make it into the top 65!

What about doing top 30 tag teams?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,600 ✭✭✭✭CMpunked

How about doing a top whatever of non wrestling personalities? Those who have appeared on shows but weren't considered wrestlers like managers, commentators, announcers, interviewers, valets and then oddities such as gillberg, hornswoggle etc.

  • Registered Users Posts: 279 ✭✭Captain Morgan Freeman

I can't wait to use the LOD rule to include Sting in the list of the greatest tag teams due to his success as a singles competitor.
