Here's a little preview of my chicago typewriter project

The drum mag's not finished, it still needs a lot of cleaning up. At the moment I'm considering it a first draft. I may remake it so that its more accurate to the real drum mag.

If I can find one, I'll be getting a CAW 1928 kit.

And of course, I still need to get a wood kit for the stock and pistol grip.

Chrome and black M4. Took a heck of a lot of work but eventually it got there.
Gold-chrome electroplated flamework on the front end and on the stock tube.
The whole rifle has been plated and chemically treated, as well as gone through seveal stages of aluox shot blasting and glass shot peening.
Special rifles need special names so I'm calling it the "X4".

Chrome and gold Berretta to match the X4. This is the "X9".
Again, same plating and chemical treatment processes as the X4, not paint.

It hasn't been given any internals or grips yet, that's going to happen soon.
(Images are a bit cat, I'll take a couple of better ones when it's finished)

Well, got around to aging my DBoys WW001 (Karabiner 98K). As you can see from the couple of 'before' pics below she had a nice red tone :rolleyes:, shiney too! ughhh. I dont know what sort of finish they apply to it, but it certainly isnt nice, and definately isnt authentic! But, its nothing that a bit of nitromors wont sort out!

I had drilled and tapped the receiver for a scope, but I removed that and filled the holes. I added a number of markings to her also, most obvious, a manufacture date of 1944 and a manufacturer code 'byf'. Serial numbers and waffen inspection stamps were also applied just to give it a more realistic look.

The stock received several coats of boiled linseed oil, its what the Brits used, not sure about the Germans, but, it gives it a more authentic look and feel (and smell!).

So, what'da think? Also pictured is the Mausers arch enemy, the Lee Enfield! (she's a de-ac!!) just to show a comparison between the two.

Got a CA25 URX during the week so here's a family pic. The crane stock is a pain in the proverbial ass
but other than that it's great. Plus it only took 2 days to get from HK to my doorstep,
the purchase was 4 working days in total:D
