    Wolverhampton

8.50 Lawmaker led all the way, excellent win

Spear , Lawmaker and Croic an oir should be self explanatory.
Manoram is returning to 16f today after some disappointing longer trips. It's consistant over this distance with a form of 3,1,2,2,1,3,1

I'm pretty confident, I feel there is definately two winners in there. If you've had a bad day today it's probably worth your while to ignore my selections here.

If you really want to place a bet tonight, maybe it would be worth your while to do a e/w double on spear and croic an oir.

Viewers discretion is advised here. I don't exactly have a great track record with my lucky 15's on here. So beware!

    De Roberto 4/1 e/w

Probably best to be honest. It's raining at Uttoxeter, getting softer as the time goes on. I suspect there will be a few winning outsiders.

How does this work, never really figured out the E/W double. Spear is 4/5 and Croic and oir is 7/4. Do you only get money back if both horses win or if both horses get placed? Does anyone know how much you would get back on a €5 E/W total of €10 on these odds? I know how to work out the odds but unsure when it comes to E/W accumlaters.

    if they win

    Price 1 4/5 win
    Price 2 7/4 win
    Unit Stake 5
    Total Stake: 10
    Return: 33.38

    if both are placed

    Price 1 4/5 placed
    Price 2 7/4 placed
    Unit Stake 5
    Total Stake: 10
    Return: 8.63

Use the calculator on paddypower.com if you are ever in doubt.

Spear was boxed in the whole way, very disappointing 2nd place. :o

Would you mind showing me exactly how you calculated the placed bet, Do you divide both odds by what ever the placed odds are, usually 1/4. This is the way I thought that you would calculate it:
    7/4 = 2.75 Convert to decimal
    2.75/4 = 0.685 Divide by place

    4/5 = 0.8 Convert to decimal
    0.8/4 = 0.2 Divide by place

    0.2*0.685 = 0.137. Multiply both selections

I presume the above is wrong

I used the calculator on paddypower.com

    went to double
I put in the odds, and said they were placed.
said the stake was 5 and that for being placed it was 1/4 of the odds.
then i pressed the calculate button.

Fair enough, I would just like to know how do it myself because when you are in the bookies it would be handy to know if its worth putting the bet on E/W in a double because sometimes it is not.

    Firstly, 7/4 is 1.75
Then dividing it by 4 gives 0.4375
    4/5 = 0.8 Convert to decimal
    0.8/4 = 0.2 Divide by place
    Okey-dokey.
    0.2*0.685 = 0.137. Multiply both selections
Here's the important bit -> before multiplying, add 1 to each number.
    So you get 1.4375 * 1.2 = 1.725

That would be your return for a €1 place double, so multiplying that by 5 gives €8.63, which is what sjones showed earlier in his results from the paddypower calculator thingymajig.

Cheers crumbs, I see what I done wrong now. I converted to decimal and then added my 1 and divided by 4. Thats why I got the 2.75 and forgot to do this for the other horse!!

Best of luck in that 9.10 with croic an oir

    1.55 Red Clubs still running
    3.05 Gamut won @ 2/1
    Lingfield
    3.25 Don Peter lost :(

Lingfield 5.40 Song Sparrow currently 3/1

I'm hitting this hard e/w. I probably shouldn't do this, you know, never try to win back what you lost. But here goes, it's a bad enough day!

She was very very strong in her last race, saying lots of good things about her on ATR.
