Not much going on here either - The driver ahead didn't indicate , but other than that I'm fairly sure the passenger is a driving instructor

Looks like they were very nervous tbh. The angle taken looks like they were heading for the wall.

This one has me puzzled - I definately had my car set on cruise control at 101km/h and there was a cement truck ahead and cars passing me .

The Nextbase says I'm doing 95km/h

    Which do I believe ?

Cruise control will be based on the speedo which will under read. GPS is most reliable but not totally infallible.

One I had saved on the camera from last year I'd forgotten about.
It was a lot closer than the camera makes it look (as you can tell by my mothers reaction:pac:)

Another example of no one using the left hand lane. He'd have made that exit a lot easier if he'd been in the correct lane. They really should just get rid of one lane each way on the M50.

I have to admit, since someone here advised just undertake it's their own fault, my stress levels on the M50 have reduced. I just pop along the inside lane at the speed limit (since the points :pac:) and let the odd little old lady out or move over if I can.

Someone was telling me that they use the middle lane incase they get 'stuck' behind something pulling out. In my experience people are going at peak speed down the slip road as they 'need' to pull directly out into the middle lane. It's pretty rare I get stick behind anything doing less than 100KPH.

I think you will get stuck more by staying in the middle lane because everyone just goes straight for the middle lane from the slip road causing everyone to jam on the brakes!

I'm often amused by the "next video up" that appears at the end of many of the videos. Do they reflect the posters usual viewing matter? Quite a lot of blouse malfunctions.....

(I've just thought... maybe it reflects my predilections.....

My understanding is that AGS don't try to infer speed from dashcam footage since it's a non-calibrated piece of technology.

The capture frame rate is encoded in the movie format so that it plays back at the correct speed. While it's possible to edit the movie file to change the frame rate post capture, doing so would update the file modification date on the SD card which would render the evidence invalid I reckon. It would also mean that seizing the dashcam doesn't add anything to AGS certainty about frame capture rate since the dashcam setting could have been changed post capture. That modification may be more difficult to detect than a movie file modification on SD card depending on how the dashcam settings are stored.

Open to correction on this by anyone with more experience than me.

They might be able to, in the sense that they could seize a dashcam from a speeder who has covered a known distance(say between two bridges), in what the dashcam has recorded as 1000 frames of video. If the camera was malfunctioning and actually only recording at 25FPS but tagging the video as 30FPS, then the speed would be overestimated. The software on most dashcams would not have followed any kind of regulatory validation process and so could not be relied on.

If the Gards has the camera in their possession still, they could prove it was malfunctioning.

 yes... I was afraid of that. I've just done a quick survey and Trains come top of the youtube video poll followed by cars and then the fail / bad driving type video so it's not all bad. :-)

    Life is full of choices.
We make them every day of our life.
Will I take this route, or that route?
will I have chicken? will I have steak?
Will I choose the left booth, or the right booth?

Well, today, BoBandy chose the left booth. Why? maybe it was the Garda van in the right booth? maybe it was because it was a truck in the left booth, and he'd have his house in order, he's a trucker after all, and must deal with tolls on a daily basis and is an expert in navigating them.

    I chose the wrong booth!

Do you choose to watch my video?, I've even sped it up so it's not as boring or infuriating as it was in real time.

before I realised what was happening, traffic had backed up behind me, so getting out of it wouldn't easy!

The irony to all this was I actually had the €1.90 in change, ready to go, but as I'm on company travel, I need a receipt to expense everything, and don't trust those unmanned booths to give me a receipt as I usually get let down.
I'd say about 20 seconds into my wait, I'd have happily forgone the €1.90 just to get out of there!! (I was on my way from Derry, and had been driving 2 1/2 hours already).

To say I was in a mild rage would be an understatement. A big understatement.

Not an Irish truck. Probably some east European trying not to spend his trip money so he could pocket it when he got home and ended up in the toll coz he couldn't read a map to get off at the last exit and go through the local town

    He was from Lithuania,

Another twist of irony being I lived there for 18 months, and my OH is Lithuanian.

The toll booth lady told me the problem was he didn't have a word of English,
I actually speak a little Lithuanian, and probably could have helped resolve the situation, but by then my levels of rage had already reached 2,453% and I just wanted to get home.

So here I was this evening waiting for a nice driver to let me turn right , and when I got the flash , this chap comes flying up the pavement and he definately wasn't gonna give me the right of way

I hate those dropped but not dropped pavements. Practically speaking the driver never has right of way. In my own little mind, dropped path = pedestrian, dropped pavement on either side = motorist. When they do that but then make the pavement and road match - who knows. Certainly not someone who's had to pass no test to be let out on the pavement.

Whenever I chose a fast booth on the motorway this comes to mind as I pull away

my brother in laws a lithuanian truck driver so been told the deal they get with cash and the drivers will scrimp to keep the cash for when they get back as they generally don't have to pay any cash back to the boss unless they work for one of the big companies

How does Bob Marley like his donuts... :pac:

The thing that annoys me about many of those maneuvers is if the muppets had just gone rather than fannying about they wouldn't have been in anyone's way. The fecking BMW in the park being the prime example, just GO!
