Lads Nikitin is 11/4 to win gold in the 56kg Boxing.

Having seen him get destroyed the last 2 fights and still win with the judges that's printing your own money.

Unless the Cuban's or Uzbekistani's have payed more.

In case anyone is still (however unlikely) unconvinced about the corruption at Olympic boxing take a gander at this short clip from 2012... knocked down 5 times in a round, still wins.

What a $9m bank transfer to the AIBA gets you

Watch the video closely at 1.18. Before the announcer even says blue he is lifting the guys hand up. Farcical.

Sorry if it's already been posted, checked back a few pages and couldn't see it.

Got a chuckle from RTE for once!

I do like how RTE aren't even pretending to be impartial about this :pac:

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

His wife is supposed to have told Police he had left the country after the meeting with Ross, a few minutes later they found him in the adjoining room.

He was pictured with the sailor yesterday so I presume the police knew that. I also presume they would have stopped leaving the country.

I do think alright that Hickey has crossed somebody and the Brazilian authorities are deflecting from a terribly attended Olympics.

I don't think the Cubans are involved in this latest scandal. It seems to be Russia and the former Soviet banana republics at it.

If she wasn't injured she'd have had a shot, the qualifying time was within her pb. Pity really.

    Taekwondo is awful boring.

Steeplechase 3000m men at 3.55 and maybe BMX at 6.30 best stuff on today I think.

That result was appealed and overturned on ref not recognising KOs

Expelled the judges but not overturning the results. Bit fecking late then isn't it!

75% of those polled would hit that.

It's a very FIFA-esque tactic. Some middle ranking member of the organisation is exposed as corrupt. Response by the organisation is to just expel that member and claim "Everything is now sorted, now that we have banned those awful people we have ended corruption. Now, no need to investigate the higher ups, just keep paying us"

That's twice today that Jerry Kiernan has had to school Joanne Cantwell... on the effects of testosterone and the fact that, yes, some sports organisations are actually corrupt!

French steeplechaseer who came fourth has submitted a complaint, he says he saw Kenboy cutting at least one corner.
