Go on the Bullet, really think he can be a top 5 player in the next year or so.

Delighted he won it but it did get a bit sloppy in the middle. Great win for him though in a huge tournament.

Poor enough night last night with no real close games bar the first one. Barney was very disappointing with an 86 average and deserved to lose. Burnett never showed up at all and neither did Ian White.

Hopefully tonight's games will be closer.

Barney changed his darts yesterday to a heavier, thicker set which couldn't have helped the situation seeing as he only got the darts yesterday morning.

I don't understand why he would use a set that he hasn't at least practised with for a while before. Madness and maybe how poorly he played will make him think twice about doing it again.

Ridiculously stupid thing to do in the second biggest tournament of the year if true.

  • Registered Users Posts: 243 ✭✭jonnygiles

Yeah Barney did change his darts to a new set before his match with Whitlock, then practiced with his old set during the second break, went back to new set during 3rd mini-session then finished match with his old set again!

Silly thing to do as he sent Whitlock a clear message that he wasnt feeling fully confident aiming for his trebles. The new darts might work in the long term but he needed to practice with them after this event to see if thats what he would prefer

Ha, assumed there was only 3 games last night on account of it being first to 13 and switched off before the Barney one even started

Disappointed with the crowd this year in Blackpool, they usually give the players great order but the premier league panto crowd seem to be in this year booing the players at every chance.

    Great win Newton
