Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Half a can of Lynx deodorant is not an alternative.

    Thank you for your cooperation.

I always thought that jumping in and out of the shower quickly before swimming was worse than useless. Lets face it if somebody "needs" a shower then we are talking soap, shampoo and a few minutes work. I have never seen anybody do this before swimming.
The vast majority of us shower daily and wear clean clothes and I think it is a fairly pointless exercise to quickly wet yourself in a shower before swimming. Its purely for show..

Some people don't realise that their deodorant, perfume, sunscreen etc. all ends up in the public pool when they don't shower. The smell is quite strong and it's easy to tell who it's coming from most of the time.

And no one with greasy skin. Or dry flaky skin. Or dermatitis, impetigo or psoriasis sufferers. And definitely no one with stuffed up sinus or runny sinus. I didn’t want to go for a swim anyway...

Some things can be solved by simply taking a quick shower as directed by most pools. Other things are probably best ignored.

I was actually far more bothered by the thick metallic haze of cheap deodorant than the superficial poolside shower.

In all my time swimming, I have hardly ever seen any other serious swimmers shower before swimming, that includes junior, senior, masters swimmers, water polo players, triathletes.

I think is is because they are all in on the big secret, that 15 sec in a shower will do nothing to clean someone, in comparison to the hour they are about to spend in a massive pool of what is effectively, detergent. The only thing the shower will do is warm you up and make getting into the pool even colder....
