Join us at The Spire of Lloyd on Thursday April 25th for The Partial Lunar Eclipse.
Weather permitting we hope to get images of the Sunset & the Moon Rising, lovely landscape scene from the top of Lloyd and even use the Tower as a silouette.... Please remember to wrap up warm,(and maybe bring a flask of tea) and dont forget you'll need a tripod, any beginners that maybe dont have a lot of equipment dont worry someone will help you out, look forward to seeing everyone :) and remember new members always welcome and existing members are encourged to bring a friend :)

Might as well watch the eclipse on Tara. Anyone going??

Maximum Eclipse 25 Apr, 21:08 120° 2.8° Moon is closest to the center of the shadow.
Moon close to horizon, so make sure you have free sight to East-southeast.

... the Tara Dawn Run is an annual event held in or around the Summer Solstice on the historic Hill of Tara, Co Meath.
The difference with this 4km fun run is the starting siren goes off at 4am ............ in the pitch dark!

On finishing, everyone is a winner, as each participant gets a legendary Tara Dawn Run Sausage Sambo cooked on our massive BBQs! Live music entertains the crowd and to top off that feeling of well being all proceeds are in aid of the Children’s Medical and Research Foundation at Our Lady’s Childrens’s Hospital, Crumlin.

    4AM ON JUNE 15TH

This thread has died a little... so here is one that a few might not know about.

    http://www.navanspiegeltent.com/
The Navan Spiegeltent Festival, will feature over 20 shows, including music by some of Irelands' top acts, as well as screenings of vintage films, comedy, dance, theatre, kids entertainment and fashion events designed to entertain local and national visitors to Navan.

Each night of the Navan Spiegeltent Festival will feature two main events, one at 7 pm and the other at 10 pm, the earlier show intended to facilitate audiences from outside the Navan area. Rebecca Storm, Jack L, The Celtic Tenors, Jerry Fish, Declan O Rourke and a host of other acts have been confirmed for the first ever Navan Spiegeltent Festival.

The film programme will include the classic first silent Dracula movie Nosferatu which will be accompanied by the score played on piano.

Spiegeltents have been used as venues in numerous places around the globe, including Melbourne, Adelaide, Dublin, Brisbane, Belfast, Montreal, Cork, Edinburgh, Toronto and at Caesar’s Palace in Nevada, but this is the first time one will visit Navan.

I think they reason it's young is that it's just been lost in this forum! If it was a sticky more people would contribute.
