    26/1

    Crazy stuff from Vijay

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,030 ✭✭✭✭Rjd2

A shambolic run out has been missing from what has been a shocking all round performance from India so far this test.

Fielding, bowling, batting, running, all crap.

Anyone think they were to cocky before this test?

Dhawan should have been given there by Erasmus

It was like the win at Lords which was their first away win in 3 years was the height of their ambitions for the summer

They got it wrong on so many counts....Choosing an extra batsman when its the bowlers that take 20 wickets.....Trying to score some 'ego' points in the Anderson - Jadeja saga which preceded this match rather than trying to focus on the real job at hand which is the Test series.....Persisting with Shami and Dhawan when they both really have been poor all series

The only positive that they can now hope for is that both Kohli and Dhawan score some runs tomoro in what is now surely looking like a serious drubbing here and take some form into the remaining two matches

    112/4 at stumps....

Think its the end for Dhawan this series....Kohli skating on thin ice as well:(

Brilliant from Moeen Ali.....his batting has gone downhill but he has picked up some really crucial wickets.....India paying for not giving him enough respect

Kohli will play all series, to be fair he did very well in NZ and SOuth Africa and was one of the few who didn't disgrace himself last time in Australia.

Dhawan and Rohit will be lucky to be retained.

Ali did well, but someone made a good point to me a few months ago when Robin Journeyman Pieterson ripped through them, this team like the Ganguly/Laxman/Sehwag/Sachin/Dravid generation love to attack spinners but unlike them this lot actually get out to them also.

Pleased for him though, very likable guy.

India are doomed here, not sure even Rohit slogging a few runs when the game is over will even be a good thing for India going forward.

England have been pretty clinical all test, done everything right. They deserve this win.

Wow, Dhoni nicks of to a fast bowler overseas.

Anderson been really good all series to be fair.

    India 154-9

Fairly pathetic batting effort from India this morning - looks like it's going to be all over before lunch. I don't think Michael Atherton/Geoffrey Boycott would approve of how India went about their business of batting out the day with 6 wickets in hand!

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,384 ✭✭✭booth70

It's one thing getting out to Anderson and Broad but being bowled out by a part time off spinner.... That takes the cake

Must rank as one of India's worst defeats abroad

1-1 sets the series up nicely but India need to recover quickly

India were awful, to be fair on England some promising signs from them with the seniors back in form and Ali doing so well with the ball.

Knowing Dhoni he probably won't do much for the next test although he should, Ashwin and Aaron in and Rohit and Shami out. Pankaj was better than Shami despite taking no wickets, no issue with him getting another test.

They need a fifth bowler, Kumar looks exhausted, he was bowling in the mid 70s ffs, pick Ashwin.

Jordan will be lucky to retain his spot, apart from that no changes unless Jimmy is suspended.

some start by English. India 8 for 4

India 8 for 4! A good toss to lose, it's swinging all over the place at the moment.

They were saying early on TMS that it might be a good toss to lose.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,911 ✭✭✭Washout

it will be 50 all out and the sun will come out for 2 days....then england declare and cloud cover again

On balance I would suggest it's been England's morning ....:pac:
    India 63-5 at lunch

  • Registered Users Posts: 16,435 ✭✭✭✭y0ssar1an22

all out for less than 100?

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,030 ✭✭✭✭Rjd2

Shocking decision by Dhoni to bat first, although twas a fine knock from him.

Anderson deserved more wickets, unplayable at times.

India are doomed here, need a mental morning tomorrow where they take at least five wickets to have even the remotest of chances.

He was right to bat. After picking Ashwin he wants to be bowling last. They just needed to bat better, see off Anderson and Broad's first spell and the overcast conditions. 8-4 to 152 was a good effort, Dhoni getting half of them.

Kohli has three more goes this summer. Big disappointment so far. If he wants to continued being mentioned in the same breath as Clarke, Amla, AB, Bell etc he needs to do something

Aaron was a bit wayward but rapid. He could click tomorrow. Weather is going to be an issue but is unlikely to save India if they don't have a good first session in the morning.

There was a bizarre incident on Thursday when Sunil Gavaskar checked his blood sugar levels live on air on TMS before he tucked into one of the many cakes the listeners had sent it.

It's not a good place for a cake loving borderline diabetic to be working!

Stuart Broad just top-edged one through his grill onto his nose - looks bad.

He looks concussed. If he is he should really be removed from the game altogether, but I suspect he will return (which, based on my own personal experience of concussions and everything I've since learned about them) would be very risky

Think football is taking that decision away from player and team, completely agree with that idea and hopefully all sports do the same.

Absolutely disgrace India are. Literally have been crap since the end of the 2nd test.

Some effort to pretty much lose a test in three days when the opponents main bowler gets injured for the second innings and half of the 2nd day is washed out.

India 66-5 with no Broad for England.

    66-6 as I type.

Shocking batting frin India. Looks like it could be an innings defeat before close of play today.

Yep, and again, most of the second day was washed out and Broad can't bowl 2nd innings.

Its an abysmal effort which started from their decision to bowl on this pitch.

Aaron has been good, the rest, rubbish.

Dhoni loses all points for his knock for batting first, crap captaincy and wicket keeping this test.

  • Registered Users Posts: 16,435 ✭✭✭✭y0ssar1an22

I blame Dhoni for bowling Pankaj and Jadeja after lunch yesterday instead of Bhuvi and Aaron. Really allowed England to press on when they were under a little bit of pressure.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,222 ✭✭✭Gillespy

His batsmen have let him down. The toss or bowling decisions haven't landing them in this mess. 8-4 you are always up against it.

Counterattack time now with Dhoni and Ashwin. They have to see out today with the weather forecast.

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,030 ✭✭✭✭Rjd2

No they should have bowled first, conditions were perfect for bowling. I mean they were knocked over for 150 previous test, what on earth made him think he had the players to bat first?

With Ojha running riot domestically last few years and Saha a quality little player, Dhoni is a waste of time overseas. At least they have to ask is he a better gloveman than Ojha or Saha?

His captaincy is awful overseas as well, could do worse than retire in this format to focus on ODI cricket which he is an ATG at.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 10,325 ✭✭✭✭Dozen Wicked Words

To be fair to Dhoni, Cook said he'd have batted first and lot of the pundits understood his decision. Stayed overcast longer than expected and spineless batting.

But England put 500 up in the previous game and its their home conditions., while in their last innings they limped to 150.

madness with so many players out of form to bat first.

But they probably would have lost anyways either way.

Anyways they have been rubbish, this is the type of stuff we laugh at Bangladesh and West Indies for.
