    Another reason I suppose could be if you are getting blanked alot its better to send a few mails at a time rather than all at once which can make you get sick of the site very fast

    9 people have added me to their favourites and none of them has ever contacted me. It's a bit strange, what's the point of adding someone unless you intended to make contact at some stage?

    IMO if you see someone that takes your interest, take the time to write an email there and then. Don't bother clicking on to the next person!

    A favorite with no message says to me "I think your attractive, but don't have the bottle to construct a 2 line message!".

    My opinion, I'm sure there are others that disagree.

    Also the amount of boardsies, I've came across (not literally:p) in the last few weeks. Tis amazing how ya can get recognized / recognize from seeing someones pic on boards once! Boards could have its own dating site linked to Know your clubbers at this stage!

    I'm worn down by the amount of muppetry one is supposed to go through with online dating..

    My date wasn't the best and now I'm being hounded as to why it didn't work...ffs..

    I've hidden my profile and think I'll give the real world a try for dating for a while..

    I think I'll still come in here for a lurk and see how the romances (or lack) are going..

    According to the POF FAQ page you can block your profile so that no one can see you. I presume that you can then message anyone you choose & they can reply. But don't live up to your Boards name - the botanical name for Busy Lizzie is Impatiens which mean impatient ;)

    Just home from a pleasant evening chatting with a nice girl who contacted me on Monday. We have each other's phone numbers and she said she'd text me. Hard to tell how it'll go from here, but it was nice to meet someone new anyway. :)

    The thing about the favorites list is that I don't mind them so much adding me and then making no contact it's when I am first to make contact with them and get no reply. Seriously whats that all about?? I do think people just use it as a way to bookmark your page or else I have no idea really what's going on in their head :p

    Hi all.

    Thought I'd share my frustration :p

    Messaged an interesting girl on OKC and we messaged back and forth for a couple of days.

    Despite my best efforts and unintentionally turning her off with my nerdyness, she continued to chat and responded positively. She seemed level headed, finally a normal intelligent person I can have a proper chat with and hopefully go on a date....

    She seemed to be hinting on being interested in going on a date... I didn't push instantly, in her last message she talked about how she found the whole online dating thing odd and strange and how annoying it is to talk to someone for a couple of days and then all of a sudden they blank you....

    "Wow exactly my feelings on it, someone I can really relate to" I thought and I replied to her telling her so...

    and she blanked me...

    I left it for a day and saw she had been online but still had stopped talking to me.

    So then I started to wonder if I should have actually asked her thus I sent her a really honest message saying I would be up for that if she is, if not no worries etc...

    Still blanked...


    So in the last message to me she expresses her annoyance at talking to someone for a couple of days and then getting blanked by them and with that she does exactly the same to me???

    Was she out to get revenge or something? LOL

    I really don't understand it, sucks as it just makes you think you did something horribly wrong or came off bad in some way. But ah well.

    So strange though... wish I could tell what she was thinking but I'll never know.

    Its all pretty funny when you think about it.. The irony of it all. Maybe she was just trolling me lol. :)

    I assumed it was their way of enticing you into messaging them but...

    i find OkCupid to be a better site, not as many onnit which means your messages with effort actually get read as there's not as many "pests" that fill up the womens inbox.hah :)
    also some beauts with detailed profiles

    Can someone remind me of the site you can run a photo through to see if its genuine? There is a boy messaging me who is uncommonly beautiful and I have sincere doubts about the veracity of his photo!

    Of course that only recognises images from websites. i.e the ones that have shown up for me are mostly porn sites :P

    They could easily just take a pic from a hot fb friend? :P

    Ha I had a similar experience.

    It's possible she was expecting you to ask her out and she took it as you not being interested.

    The guessing game about what people are silently expecting and reacting to is endlessly frustrating. I find it very difficult to get to the point where I'd feel comfortable meeting someone.

    i know it seems like some girls just reply to keep a good rep in replying to messages( the green dot symbol-replies often)
    but you can usually tell if there interested within two messages and at least have a chance to impress them i guess :)

    got my first block to date :), was talking to a girl for a few days and things were going well.then friday we were talking and i told her i had to go..so yeah thats all good... i had a pretty busy weekend so was only on the site for bout 5 mins during the weekend,
    went to message her on monday asking bout her weekend/potential date and i was blocked ...wtf?? must of thought i was ignoring her when i was on during the weekend even though i hadnt time to get into a convo..ah well,dont need that drama anyway haha

    It's official- I am retiring my pof profile. Really, for every half decent message I get, there are 10 'do you want zee roides' so I figure it's time to check out the real world again. It's been fun and oh so weird but entertaining all the way so I don't regret it. I just don't think it's for me. Not now anyway. Good luck to all of you that are still in the game.     Ps: I am going to be popping in here every once in a while every hour to offer both solicited and unsolicited advice :D as well as to continue my mission to 'thank' every post on this thread. :p
