    Re-joined POF there now. No joke, within 5 mins of creating my profile a girl sent me a mail. It was one of those "Hi" one's and that was it. Seeing someone else on here had luck after getting a similar mail, I'm willing to give this a chance but I'm not holding my breath!

    Constant messages, and I mean constant, mostly with nudie pics! I closed my account after about a week.

    I much preferred OK Cupid, found that there were much more decent genuine lads there.

    And anyone I met up with from there was lovely.

    And one dude, in particular, was more than lovely.

    Which is why I'm no longer on the site. :P

    I suggest if you go back on to PoF to hide your profile and just contact guys that interest you. Cuts out an awful lot of nonsense. And it works!! ;)

    eh..well without going into too much detail...

    The pic on his profile was many years old..(and other pics I'd seen)

    His job was very sugar coated = no job
    I've no problem with someone not working, but he had told me he had a job.

    He was smaller than me and skinnier than me.

    It was a bit of a laugh, but not for me, in the dating sense.
    He asked the question and I was honest (nicely).

    It appears I have now been wiped off his planet!

    Hope all that doesn't sound too shallow and harsh, but's that the way it was.

    I am always amused by how quickly people do that. Any time I feel guilty for not taking the time to compose a well thought out rejection email, I remember the times I did and got blocked or insulted for my troubles. Lesson learned: if you're not interested, just blank from the get go. It's easier for all parties involved in the long run. And no, you're not shallow. If you were, you would be on here calling him all sorts of unpleasant names. :)

    But if you believe that one should be courteous & give a pleasant reply, then isn't it just making you sink to their level. Maybe it is better to treat them as you would like to be treated rather than as they treat you.

    I have come to the opinion that women on these sites are only contacting me to pass the time. Nobody seems willing to 'take the next step' ie: organize an actual date these days. It's all message for a few days, followed by scarpering at the idea of meeting up.
    It just seems hard to find people that want to date (irony of ironies). Anyone else in a similar boat?
