    Guys,

I've done a few sportives this year but I'm kinda thinking next year I'd like to do something different. I wouldn't mind maybe doing a week long one abroad or even something cobbled, I'm not a mountain goat so climbing alps wouldn't float my boat..

Any suggestions as to what to hit next year ?

On the doorstep, so may take some of the pain out of the £1,450 + VAT entry fee - how about the Ride Across Britain?

    Im in the same boat.
Why not go to Benelux and ride the route of Gent Wevelgem, RVV (they're not real climbs, more like steep lumps), LBL (might be a bit of climbing), Fleche Walonne.

Or else head to Italy and do the Giro di Lombardy sportif (may involve some climbing).

    Or do a LeJog?

My sister did one this year and had a blast. It was in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care and was very well supported.

(edit - sorry, should have read Beastys reply first. Similar kind of route)

Did the alpine Etape this year, would highly recommend but if you don't like hills maybe the Paris Roubaix one

Cycling weekly did a feature earlier in the year, think there were over 250 sportives between Ireland and the UK.
The 2nd Etape was a bit flatter so keep an eye on what they pick next year.
Think some of the irish tour companies like on your bike do trips as well

Seriously going to consider this! Two days before my birthday and my Girlfriend's already on board. Prices on the car ferry seem reasonable and I also get to take in the actual race the following day! Anyone see the entry fee on the site? I couldn't see it but I believe in 2010 the first 300 entrants paid €75.

I paid €75 for mine, through the french site. Should be the same. First 3000 i think got it for that. Think entry opened in early november.

Why not try something different, like cycling the Camino.
