Did y'all break into song at the end of the flick along with Bill Murray?!
I'm gutted. I was saving it for a christmas eve viewing but I'm not sure if I can face it now!

I'm the same .. love that movie.

When Bill says "Just the folks on the left, now the women, now the real women etc ec" I felt like joining in but Irish people are no fun unless they are drunk so no joy :)

So I trundled along to the Ivy House last night to catch Scrooged. Walked home very disapointed. :( (in the pissing rain!)
    Movie was free - YAY
Had to pay €20 to wear earphones - BOO
It was a deposit so you get it back - YAY
No sound unless you use earphones - BOO
    Earphones were crap - BOO
Football was on in the next room but still audible- BOO
Miller draught was ****e - BOO

Overal didnt enjoy the pub. Very much an english pub chain (like weatherspoons) atmosphere which was ****e. I'll wait to see Scrooged in the IFI or Screen next year. :(

Ah sh*t, sorry to hear that :(

That's crazy, did you complain? Not that it would make any difference I suppose.

I had never been and I presumed they would have a cinema type setup. That's disgraceful.

Yeah. I was in that pub a good few years back and was wondering how they were going to manage to screen films like this as it never seem terribly suitable.

Still an interesting bit of initiative for a pub to show to get people in on a Tuesday evening.

Well, I for one will not be attending a screening there after Skinfull's experience.

How they get listed on Entertainment.ie is a joke if this is how they treat people.

I think I will email them and let them know.

    How many turned up Skinfull?

More 'sort of' musicals at the Screen Cinema... Definitely going to get me some of that Labyrinth action. Wish these weren't on Tuesdays though.

    The Last Waltz(1978)
Tuesday the 5th of January at 6.30pm

    the+last+waltz+copy.jpg
    Directed by: Martin Scorsese
Starring: THE BAND, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Van Morrison, Joni Mitchell, Emmylou Harris and soo many more.

This immortal music documentary is primarily about The Band but also features performances from legends such as Emmylou Harris, Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Bob Dylan and Van Morrison. Martin Scorsese’s fluid and probing camerawork is remarkable and the performances are treated with the respect and admiration that they all truly deserve. Don’t miss this enthralling piece of cinema on the big screen...and don’t worry, we won’t ignore the opening message: “THE FILM SHOULD BE PLAYED LOUD!”

    Labyrinth(1986)
Tuesday the 12th of January at 6.30pm

    labyrinth.jpg
    Dir: Jim Henson

    Starring: Jennifer Connolly, David Bowie

A favourite of children and adults alike, this cult classic treads the line between children’s movie and terrifying fantasy film. David Bowie provides both the music and the face of the tightpants-attired Goblin King and Jennifer Connolly stars as the dreamy teenager who must save her baby brother from the goblins. Full of wonderful songs, twisted imagery, general madness and of course brilliant Henson puppetry, Labyrinth may be decidedly 80’s in style but its originality never ages a day!

    This is Spinal Tap(1982)
Tuesday the 19th of January at 6.30pm

    spinal-tap.jpg
    Dir: Rob Reiner

Starring: Michael McKean, Christopher Guest, Harry Shearer

Most likely the funniest film ever made. This rockumentary, if you will, MOCKumentary follows ageing rockers Spinal Tap as they go through everyday disasters on the road. The film’s stars, Michael McKean, Christopher Guest and Harry Shearer are ridiculously talented comedians and, luckily, songwriters. The tunes hold up and make this tale of monsters of rock believable and hugely enjoyable. I absolutely must end this blurb by referencing the fact that all amps in the cinema will be turned to 11.

    Cry Baby(1990)
Tuesday the 26th of January at 6.30pm

    cry_baby01.jpg
    Dir: John Waters

Starring: Johnny Depp, Amy Locane, Ricki Lake, Traci Lords, Iggy Pop

John Waters, trash filmmaker extraordinaire, not only dissects the conventions of the 1950s social structure, but deconstructs the fashion, music and aesthetic of the era. He creates a world of the leather-clad, hormone-driven “Drapes” and the evening gown-wearing, clean-cut “Squares” in 1950’s Baltimore, which falls into disarray when beautiful square Alison falls in love with the soulful and handsome drape Wade “Cry Baby” Walker. The fantastic 50’s soundtrack, the remarkable costumes and the general sense of John Waters’ anarchy makes this film an classic...not to mention a star-making turn from some young hooligan called Johnny Depp.

It can be quite low at times in The Screen, depends who's working.

It was very loud for Scrooged but The Lost Boys I couldn't eat my Popcorn as I was missing dialouge with the noise coming from my mouth.

    Cineworld has grown on me.

The Unlimited offer is perfect for someone like me who sees 99% of movies that are released.

I want leather seats and recliners though.

Real popcorn too would be nice.

I like the bar in cineworld... wish more cinemas had bars.. although up by Stephen's Green there's a much larger selction of good bars in the vicinity.

I do miss Conway's pub on Parnell street a lot.. was perfect for post cinema drinks.
