I'm always on the look out for good comedy shows but have seen everything anyone recommends to me. My latest discovery was the not-bad-at-all 'How Not To live Your Life' but I finished series one yesterday.

Has anyone got any obscure recommendations? It's hard to say what I like, basically anything that's original or clever or not ****.

Garth Marenghi's Darkplace - Darkplace is presented as a lost classic: a series produced in the 1980s, yet never shown until now. Subsequently, it features 'present day' commentary from many of the "original" cast, where characters such as "Marenghi" and "Learner" reflect on making the show. Darkplace parodies numerous aspects of 80s low-budget television, including fashion, special effects and music.

LOVED this show! The whole first episode is on YouTube

I've seen all except How I Met Your Mother.

    Coupling is great too.

Also, it was God, the Devil and BoB. Which is brilliant also.

I think they did, Johnny Vegas looked a lot thinner in one I saw recently anyway :pac:

According to wiki, there has been 5 series with 6th one due soon

The 5th season finished about a month ago. They tend to repeat the show fairly regularly on BBC3. I think they are showing earlier series on TV3 or 3e at the moment.

Sorry - about a middle-aged librarian and his domineering mother.

Better off Ted has just finished it's first season in the states. It's about a guy called Ted who works for a company with no soul or conscience. Portia De Rossi is excellent as his boss. Here's a taste of it:

I'd only ever seen bit's and pieces of Arrested development but the way everyone goes on about it I was going to give it a go but when you compare it to Seinfeld I think I'll give it a miss.

It's always sunny in Philadelphia and pen & teller bull**** are good. There was a show out for a while called the factory that was funny but it seemed to disapear fairly quick. Trailer park boys is really good.

It would have escaped its cult beginnings, but "Curb your Enthusiasm" is worth watching if you haven't seen it.

    Why was coupling mentioned?
