I do on my work PC.

I have to press F1 everytime cos it gives me some annoying message about the system battery being fooked up:mad:

When I were a young lad and this interent was a novelty I downloaded a heap of Simpson's sounds. Homer saying "D'oh!", "Woohoo!", Marge saying "Hmmm". The clip I associated with shutting down was Mr. Burns saying "As punishment for your desertion it's company policy to give you the plague". It actually used to cut out half way through though and the novelty of hearing Homer every five seconds wore out in about the same amount of time.

Never saw the reason to have them? I'm well able to tell when my PC has started up by looking at the monitor and I normally tell my PC when to shut down.

Nope, years ago I tired messing with the login and it pretty much wrecked the computer.

Default one for me.

I have the Mac "bong" noise muted each time I start up. Start-up noises are the devil...

None, turned them off. I used to have Arnie roaring "DOOOOOOOO IT, DOOOOOOOO IT NOAWWWWWWWWWWWW!" as shutdown but that got annoying fast.

My old computer had the star wars music as the start-up tune, with the TIE fighter fly-by noise as the closing music...

Used to have Cartman saying "Screw you guys, I'm going home" on my outlook shutdown but it got old.

These days all sounds are muted - saves any problems when surfing

In college, I changed by friend's shut down sound to a .wav from a porn film of a woman moaning and asking to be "spanked with your big black c*ck daddy".

He used his laptop in the computer room the following day and a group of us just sat back and laughed as he tried to get it to stop. Funniest thing was the way he tried to cover his screen which made it like he really was watching porn.

Mate of mine used to have a load of Star Wars sounds/voice clips on his work machine, ie: theme played when it logged on etc.

Funniest though was when he'd close a window, Obi-Wan would say "if you strike me down I will only grow more powerful than you can imagine"

Got old very fast, but funny while it lasted!
