    Hi

Looking for some advice on garden wall.. it's approximately 15 meters in length and about 1.25 meters high.

Their is about 20 bricks spalling and a good few more starting..

Will a water seal do ?

    Hi!

I might be wrong here but that failure is called a blown face and it happens when water penetrates into the face of the brick and then a frost blows-up the face by freeze-thaw action. It happens when the mortar has failed - or in your case - is a deeply recessed joint and this allows the water penetration. The solution here would be to replace any blown bricks and then to rake out any loose mortar and replace it with a flush or weather-struck joint to stop the bricks from deteriorating further.

Given that it's a single-leaf garden wall I'd probably use a waterproofer in the mortar.
