Pokemon games after Gold/Silver - Same style? Worth playing?

    Hello,

    The last Pokemon game I played was Gold on GBC.

    I wanted to ask if the games that followed were in the same style as the games on GB/GBC and if they are worth playing? I am completely out of touch with the newer games.

    If you enjoy classic Pokémon but want updated mechanics and new features, try them

    • Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald: New region, Pokémon, and features.
    • Diamond/Pearl/Platinum: Updated mechanics, online play, new evolutions.
    • Black/White, Black 2/White 2: Different region, story, and expanded gameplay.
    • X/Y: Transition to 3D graphics, new features like Mega Evolution.
    • Sun/Moon, Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon: Altered mechanics, regional variants, story focus.
    • Sword/Shield: First on Nintendo Switch, new region, Dynamaxing, mixed reception.
