This thread is simply for a flooding watch.
Waterford train station was closed on Saturday due to flooding however high tide helped this.

A lot of areas have a high water table and this further rain on Wednesday could cause Some problems. So nothing certain it's just a watch.

    Matt Hugo sees potential.

    Met Éireann

WEDNESDAY: A wet and rather windy start of the day. Rain will soon clear to scattered showers in the south and west and later in remaining areas as well. Winds will ease with the clearance and veer southwest. Highest temperatures of 8 to 11 degrees.
Showers will continue in Atlantic coastal areas on Wednesday night, elsewhere it will become dry with clear spells. A slight ground frost is possible in the east, but generally overnight temperatures will stay well above freezing in moderate southerly breezes

Still looking very wet during the small hours of Wednesday. Yesterday's rainfall in some parts also did no favours. Fields are well saturated around my area with ponds on some and I'm sure the scene is similar around the country.

I would say that local flooding is a given now with this brief system. Some rainfall prediction charts below to give an idea what we might expect.

Doesn't seem to be extremely windy on the charts, but the flooding will be a worry. We had a lot of rain here yesterday. Some fields are more like lakes than ponds!

Wind is not an issue. This thread is just for a flood watch.

Nice band of rain visible on Met Eireann radar now.

Also, incredible to see the size of this weather system - stretching across from Greenland to Iberia. The Met Eireann 5 Day forecast shows it (potentially) generating a nice LP system on Sat/Sun.
