Private forum request: Expand your horizons

I was just watching:
10 things you didn't know about orgasm
and
Could a Saturn moon contain life?

This paper on Rational discrimination is something I read a while ago.

And this blog on alcohol licensing is something that I found fascinating. (His article on a negative income tax for Ireland is fascinating, but better suited to economics.)

This has convinced me to request a forum which I've been thinking of for a while.
Essentially I would like a forum to share interesting articles containing new ideas and concepts that may not often be shared.
Intelligent, highish-brow papers that people may come across in their studies or searches, which are worth reading in order to expand one's mind. Speeches that are interesting and informative.
General things too "out there" and complex for After Hours, but worth reading.

I figure that there is so much noise out there in the Internet, that this would be a good way to cut through the noise and really find the best things.

Thoughts?

EDIT: For the science geeks - A talk from Physicist Brian Cox on what went wrong with the large hadron collider

I'm actually so pissed off at the moment.

I've been trying to track down an article called "Mental Decrepitude on the U.S. Supreme Court", all about how many SC justices have been utterly senile, but I don't have access to J-Stor.

There is an interesting interview with the author here: http://www.reason.com/news/show/32311.html

Sounds like a good idea. Why make it private though?

1. I just think it will work better.

2. There could be problems with copyright (academic journals get REALLY narky if their stuff is posted for free) so I'd like to be able to minimise damage by keeping it private should someone post something they shouldn't (or maybe let someone stick up the article for a week, then delete it).

3. I think that leaving it open to the general public could lead to difficulties in terms of what is posted. Articles on sex for example may be posted in a clinical fashion, and I wouldn't want those articles being there for kiddies to see (thats why we have S&S AFAIK - to keep this site family - although that boat sailed a long time ago).

This is a very interesting idea.

I take it it's a sort of dumping ground for interesting articles and a place to discuss them.

I just realised it'd be the perfect place to discuss TED talks.
