Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

    Look at a gatso next time you pass one, they have cams mounted on the sides of the vans.

    That's for to catch people that were damaging the vans.

    Only the camera at the back is used for recording of vehicles.

    Yes it can cover up to four or five lanes and the usual distance of detection is up to 100m from the van but it can detect further away too.

    For it to detect across a dual carriageway there would need to be no median and the median would need to be quite narrow. I know there's no barrier on the Newbridge road, but it may be just too wide for both directions to be detected - however I'd err on the cautious side just in case.
