New Windows and Silicone

    Hi,
I got new windows recently both in a new extension and in an existing part of house, including some new window openings in the existing part..
Some making good was required to external plasterwork etc.

Just wondering if it is standard practice that all windows should be siliconed around the outside frame externally, - in all cases...?
Some of the house is red brick build, where the windows seem to be siliconed and some is smooth render (just plastered) and is not siliconed externally, at least not yet.
Should I be expecting that all windows are siliconed externally? Any harm in insisting?
    Thanks...

Normally in a new build , windows are in and reveals are rendered up to windows so, no silicone required. With fitting new windows into old reveals you would expect the external to be sealed around windows with silicone.

It’s one of the last jobs to do really. If they are finished just call them and say sealing a around windows weren’t done.

Ours were all siliconed, though the job was delayed in some cases because the weather turned wet.

Thanks, that's just the info I'm after, I can see the existing reveals were siliconed
