It's not only the photographic skills, it's the eye of an artist in each photo.

We used to do an annual book. Pity that stopped.

IMHO that's a better collection of Photographs than a recent thread where most were graphic art.

Thanks to Myksyk for putting the effort in week in, week out, and on top to collate the whole lot together.

Some cracking images all round here, and just as many in the weekly POTWs that didn't make this list. Always great for inspiration and hoping that the insights to the winning pictures will help us all learn and improve.

Hats off to you Myksyk for doing this every week. I'm sure it gives everyone a little bit of purpose which can only help motivate and improve skills. Giving a back story to the winning shots was a killer idea too!

And well done to everyone participating here, there have been some absolute belters throughout the year. Best of all, it's great to see peoples photography improving as time goes on.

No, you wouldn't see this with the naked eye but it is there. These are long exposure shots, leaving the shutter open for 20-30 seconds with ISO ramped up significantly to try to collect all the very faint light from the Milky Way. Time is limited as after about 20-30 seconds (depending on a number of factors) the camera will capture the movement of the earth and the stars will begin to streak.

I know its opening a can of worms but having looked at the photos here, we should maybe have a seperate thread for graphic art and leave the real photos for POTW's.
