I have a few friends in Perth and am thinking of going over to them for a 4 or 5 week holiday. Accomodation would be no problem as I would be staying with them.

Could people give me a ball park figure on the money I would need?

I guess the majority of my spend would be food and drink. Going out at the weekends and a weekly food shop?

A pint will cost about $10 on average which is currently €6.70. I don't know what the price of your pint is where you currently live but when I was home recently it was averaging just above €4.

So basically everything you're used to paying for you can add another 30%, some items are stupidly expensive like fruit and veg that are not in season.

On the plus side wine can be very cheap. If you're out and about on your own get a transperth card at central station, top it up and you can travel on all buses and trains with it saving about 25% off normal fare.

    The beach is free though.
