    can't help wondering if this is as real as the diaries.
    In Hitlers Bombe, Dr Karlsch suggests a team of scientists directed by the physicist Kurt Diebner, which was in competition with Heisenberg's group, tested a primitive nuclear device in Thuringia, eastern Germany, in March 1945.

    I wouldn't be surprised if it were true. It's a drawing after all, and the basic principles of nuclear bombs was known in Germany. Building it would still require access to large quantities of fissile material and well-equipped research bases, prefereably out of range of the RAF.

    Incidentally, Heisenberg's son has long-since disputed the claim that Heisenberg mis-calculated the amount of fissile material needed.

    The German scientists were way ahead of the USA. After the war most went to the USA and made the USA the force it is today!

    Apparently they were also working on technologies that the USA have hidden and developed in area 51 - anti gravity etc (the USA wanted people to believe they were alien, so to discourage other governments from developing these new technologies). So I read somewhere!
