    Wow, some surprises there. I would have thought Israel had more than one gold medal!
    Ivory Coast too actually, would've thought their population was sufficient to have yielded some athletics or football success.

    This game has made very clear to me how little I know about the Olympics! :p

    It's not TOO costly for our incorrects however. IF you got the answer right well bloody done folks, that was a toughy.

    Suriname - Zaph

    An ace at last! I was in Canada when the Seoul Olympics were on in 1988. Canadian tv coverage was awful, basically I saw little other than swimming, diving and more volleyball than I ever want to see again. But two things stick in my mind - 1) Ben Johnson in the 100 metres. It was great craic when he won, and a very odd experience as an outsider watching the locals when he was disqualified; and 2) a swimmer named Anthony Nesty winning Suriname's first ever gold medal. They made such a huge deal of it that I'll never forget him. I had no idea if they'd won any more since, but he seemed like a good bet. :)

    And I'd totally forgotten Cool Runnings was set in Calgary, been many years since I've seen it. Though maybe it's why I knew Calgary had hosted one, somewhere in the back of my mind.

    My parents took me when I was younger. We went there and to Grenoble which was my other answer for this.

    Great reveal Necro. Congrats to the Reb and the other Medalists.

    I'm quite happy with coming smack bang in the middle of the table, considering the majority of my Olympics knowledge comes mostly from Cool Runnings and Eddie The Eagle. Amazed several of the absolute shots in the dark I took paid off.

    Thank you for organising and hosting Necro, especially with all the boards blackouts.

    Congratulations to Reberetta, rainbowtrout and Hello 2D for winning beautiful gold, so-so silver and shameful bronze.
    And congratulations aaronjennings for a very well earned wooden spoon!

    If Tokyo 2021 goes ahead I'll be sure to watch carefully and take notes; will have some much better answers in Olympic PEEHS 2040. :D

    It took all my strength not to say Papua New Guinea for Q11 because of the prediction on Doctor Who:

    Got myself up to mid table :) yeahhh
    I made two boo boos in I meant Guyana instead of Nicaragua (probably no difference ) and I can’t believe I didn’t go for Uruguay instead of Brazil for the soccer ( maybe too obvious)
    A good game which shamed my knowledge of the Olyimpics
