I just ate my first orange in donkey's years. Jaysus lads they're an awful messy eat. Am I doing it wrong, what's the correct technique for eating one??

My method was to cut it into quarters and munch into the wedges. But the cutting left juice all over the countertop and the munching left juice and mulch all over my face, hands and t-shirt.

Is the more traditional peel & divide into pieces the only way to go?

Yeah just thinking there, the reason i haven't had an orange in ages is because i'd stuck to the mandarins/easy peelers.

Maybe it's as simple as that. But then again they're pretty small and i dunno if they match the taste of a big juicy orange!

Apple's and oranges that's what they say...

Keep the faith. My son used to have the very same problem with oranges. Then he turned 4 and he got the hang of it. You'll get there.

A guy in work had an orange at lunch the other day. Peeled it and then washed the inside under the tap for ages before eating it:confused::confused:

Doesn't help when you've only got 1 good hand.

    1. Peel
    2. Segment
    3. De-pip
    4. Eat over sink
