So I had six differences. In two cases, I was wrong, and in four cases, I think posters have missed that they've hit landmines

Jonathan was a landmine here - 3 point deduction means you score 0 for that round (lower-rated player predicted to drew, but he won)

Tarun was a landmine here - 3 point deduction means you get -9  for that round.

Mustakim was a landmine - 1 point deduction (lower-rated player predicted to win, but he drew)

    O'Gorman was a landmine - 1 point deduction.

    I've updated the table above.

    ?

'If you pick a lower rated player to win and he draws, you lose 1 point' (rough quote).

T O'Gorman didn't draw; he lost. So why is he a landmine? I think he isn't.

Also, I predicted Collins to beat Trisha K, which he did, so that's 1, isn't it?

    6 points.

Whoops! You're right; updated. Not sure what I saw - especially as someone predicted O'Gorman to win very shortly after you and I gave them a correct score!

I'm going to have to call a steward's enquiry here. There's two Morans - Stephen won (6 points) but Darragh drew (-1)

I'm inclined to give a void tip (0 points)

    sodacat - any thoughts?

Some big scores in this round - again, assuming my maths is correct, which we've already seen mayn't be the case!

FourNaanJeremy turns a four point deficit into a four point lead. But with more draws and more tight games (so more "upsets") coming now, four points isn't all that much.

murphygambit the only poster who missed out on this round unfortunately - though still caught up on Rathminor and Soda_Bread!

You predicted a win for Mirza, who drew, so you lose a point for that as do I
Now for the landmines If you predict a win by a higher rated player and he loses you lose 6 pts and if you predict a draw that ends up in a win for the lower rated player you lose 3pts. If you predict a win by a lower rated player and he draws you lose 1 point

Yep - already counted in my last round score. 3+0-1=2

My scores below are all over the place! My predictions so far have been

    Round 1 prediction
    Daly - Flynn .5-.5
    Quinn - McHugh .5-.5
    Harding - O'Donnell 0-1

    0+0+1 = 1

    1 pt.
    Round 2;
Wins for Alice O'G, David Murray and Tom O’G.

    -1 +0 +0 = -1, running total pf 0

    Round 3;
    Tarun Kanyamarla 1-0 Mark Quinn
    Colm Daly 0-1 Gavin Melaugh
    Henry Li .5-.5 Stephen Moran

    6 -1 -3, running total of 2

Unless I'm missing something obvious ...

Round 4 (disputed running total of 2)
    Moran .5-.5 Murphy
    Ryan .5 - .5 Baburin
    Gavin Melaugh 1-0 Butler

The only difference seems to be a -6 landmine. I'll check it later, but you can see your individual scores by game on the tables posted, and that'd quickly narrow it down to one specific match

Ah, I see it (I think)
You gave me -6 for predicting that Murray would beat Ryan, when in fact he lost. That isn't a landmine.

I hope that if you continue your pathetic tipping :) you will be brave enough to identify yourself at the end of the tournament so that you can be presented with a wooden spoon like the one that Tim Harding now holds.
Luckily for me there are no wooden spoons available in the Irish Championship itself :(

I was tempted but it would be -1 if he draws...
