Did anyone get anything good? I got my first name unchanged and my second name with the letters mixed around and one added for good luck!

Your Japanese name is Sutefupun raburesusu.

I got my name the way a Japanese speaker would say it i.e. r's instead of l's

Would be cooler (but harder to implement) if you could get a Japanese name with the same meaning as your own name.

    Ka- ki- ku- ke- ko-
    Sa- shi- su- se- so-
    ha- he- fu- he- ho-

That's how the phonetics of Japanese work, there is no real "L" or "R" sound
and the "v" sound is more like a "b"
there is no exact "wh" sound like "where?"

    Thank you very much

hmmmm.... just tried the link and it's not a very good phoenetic translation. And after 10 years in Japan I should know. The Japanese will hear your name and try to get their closest phoenetic pronounciation.

It would be cool if it showed what it looked like in Japanese fonts.

    This might work.
    Try the following website:
    http://www.csse.monash.edu.au/~jwb/wwwjdic.html

Hit the upper middle link in blue ("Search for words in the dictionary"). In the new page that opens up enter your name in the slot for Keyword and specify 'enamdic' in the dictionary file pull-down menu underneath and try search.

If your name is in the file the Japanese phonetic reading of it is displayed in a series of images so you don't need Japanese fonts. Remember that all foreign names are regarded as 'loan' words in Japanese and so are written in the katakana phonetic syllabary and not as the more complex Kanji characters.
